LinkList hosted JavaScript libraries?
There is some acceptance of JavaScript in LinkLists but I think it is still too rare for most JavaScript to be practical for freesites and galleries. There seems to be better acceptance of Google Analytics which uses JavaScript. I am guessing the better acceptance is because the JavaScript is written by and hosted by Google and so accepted as trustworthy.
Couldn't the LinkLists also host some JavaScript libraries to provide graphical browser effects and other useful things. If the freesite or gallery restricted itself to JS libraries hosted by more trusted LinkLists they might be easier to accept as trustworthy. This could be done without the freesite or gallery using any other JavaScript of it's own. I have created a simple rotating banner library and hosted it on my site together with a demonstration page here: http://development.toosxxx4.com/jslib/rotate-ban.html. Any interest or thoughts? fg |

It seems to be either the place your are submitting to allows JavaScipt or doesn't. It doesn't seem to matter who is hosting the JavaScript.
Basically their bot looks at the page code and if it detects JavaScript it declines your submit but this seems to be a problem with TGPs not LLs. |

Cool idea, but I can't remember when I have been rejected for using JavaScript of any kind. LOR and a few other lists require a trusted submitter account, but most everyone seems ok with it these days. Are you being rejected for JavaScript?

If link-o-rama/penisbot/richards etc. dont' take JS, the site above was rejected by the last two, and there doesn't seem to be much around I would be hesitant to keep trying. Thanks for getting back, fg |

Richards won't even take Google Analytics. One of the reason that I stopped submitting there.
Never had an issue with Penisbot but the only JavaScript that I use on free sites and galleries is Google Analytics. |

I've got some ideas on what I could do to make a freesite more interactive myself, but honestly, most fancy javascript tricks applied on the web are just plain unnecessary on a freesite anyway. Anything unnecessary shouldn't be added simply because ya can... every additional process you add to loading a simple HTML web page takes away from the user experience with slower loading times and additional dependencies. The beauty of a freesite is that it is a rich, yet still simple, experience.

The camgirl ad used to cause a site like that to get rejected by some LL's, now it's been deemed acceptable by all of the biggest LL's. Unfortunately it's still not acceptable to some TGP's because of the bot issue Cleo mentioned. If it was acceptable I'd buy some PA's because it converts very well.
