Image Viewer/Editor
I'm looking for a replacement for my current image viewer/editor Compupic, which does not like Windows 7.
I need something to view pics, crop/resize, batch rename, add text, print screen, supports png files, makes icons & some other basic functions. I don't think I need something as fancy as Photoshop & I don't mind spending a couple of bucks. I did poke around the Google & found these alternatives: IrfanView Lightroom Faststone Anyone have experience with any of those? Other recommendations? Thanks |

I've used irfan view for years and years...excellent for what it does, and it ticks all the boxes on your needs, though the add text feature uses windows paint which is very basic

I'm a fan and active user of Faststone's products, but it does not necessarily mean they are the best

I DL'ed it earlier looks great for some stuff but what about cropping thumbs dont see how to do it, cropping is easy but not if you want a preset size, did you get it to do that? Also try photoscape for most of the other stuff you listed i use it all the time its great and easy and free Great batch proccessing esspecially adding watermarks and resizing and adding basic tweaks with renaming for seo all in one super fast and easy. Just doesnt crop right

Click and drag what you want to crop and select Edit->Crop or hit Ctrl-Y. If you want to batch crop, select File->Batch Conversion or hit 'b' and use the Advanced button for size and location. |

Ohhh, sorry that is confusing. I see how to crop and did a few crops was super easy to see how to do it as soon as i opened the program, but i didnt see how to crop for purpose of making thumbs. For example if i want to grab an exact area of a pic to make it stand out more and have it be say 100x150px or whatever i dont see the option to preset the size for making thumbs, and still be able to make the selection of the area on the pic i want. Hope that makes sense

I have been using ACDSee for more years than I can remember. It can do pretty much anything.
