I don't think I fit into the "years" catagory, but I think I know what you're asking.
I've been doing this long enough to be too embarrased to admit that it took me about a year of playin with little projects here and there to finally get 1 sale. Once I started paying for my own domains/hosting, and actually playing with the other kids, took me about... 3 months to start getting the rest. edit: oh... and I wouldn't be surprised if that first sale was a friend giving me a nice push.

No matter how good you are at something, there's always about a million people better than you
|
Took me about a month and a half. I had this idea that simply getting an MGP up and running would get the sales running, somehow magically. After I saw 30-40 hits from the MGP to my sponsor I was like: wtf, NO SALE?! It wasn't until later I realized conversion rates aren't really that good.

I got a sale of the 3rd gallery I made, and that is what hooked me.
It took roughly a month prior to that for me to figure out how to make one, do the recips, etc. I'd never seen online porn before trying to sell it. |

Been in the biz since March 18th this year - just over three months, making freesites.
My first sale was from my third freesite and only took a few days, however there wasn't another sale for a week or two after that. That first early sale gave me a false sense of what was to come. Three months in and it's between 70 and 85 sales now with a mix of Pay Per Signup and RevShare. Not big bucks, but a monthly growth that makes a nice little graph. The end of May gave me two weeks with zero sales which was extremely puzzling, but you have just keep building and submitting and those sales will come. Absorb the advice and use it well. Good luck! |

Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all

In '97 I got an internet connection because I wanted to sell porn since I had seen a buddy of mine made $$$ with it. A week later my first AVS site was a fact. It was hosted on a free host ofcourse and made me exactly 1 sale of $10.5. So don't ask how good that site looked if you were only be able to get 1 sale from an AVS site back in the days |

Hello, is this President Clinton? Good! I figured if anyone knew where to get some tang it would be you
|
Mine came about 1 month after I started building free sites, think it was my 6th freesite that finally made a sale, now, a month later, that sale is still my only sale, but I haven't been as active building since because some stupid stuff came up so I had to take care of that

My first sale was in April of 2005 about a month after I started, I was submitting to TGP's at the time. When I got my first check I slapped that sucker on a copy machine to keep for "old times sake".

I'm probably in the minority. I had no clue what a tgp was, had never seen the front page of a paysite... nothing. I just knew that I needed to work from home, and the net was going to give me a way to do it. Porn was the logical step from there. I won't lie. The learning curve was pretty steep. I knew html and some photoshop, so that wasn't part of it. It was stuff like wtf a recip was, and all that kind of stuff that would take me hours to figure out. But I keep truckin' on. |

I made 7 sales in one month in 1997 with my first avs site. If only I could fckin remember what was on it, I would be quids in now! Seriously though, that was happy days. I have restarted my adult 'career' and been at it for about a month. Only done maybe 7 freesites, each one trying something new. So far nothing has worked and I have no sales. Im hopelessly optimistic that I will have a mortgage free house, Range Rover sport on the path and holidays to Florida every 3 months if I never quit believing I was born to be a success in business
My next strategies are as follows: 1. Keep optimistic - if 9 out of every 10 people I speak to make a sale in their first month, then good luck to them and I hope they get many more. I know my time will come! 2. Diverisfy - try every niche that interests you 3. Keep on learning, but dont learn so much you never have time to put any of it into practice! Let us know when you do make a sale, ill race you |

Does nudes taken with an old Polaroid count. If so I made my first sell of porn in the late 50s.
These 1993 dates must be referring to the old BBS. As I recall porn on the internet began in the late ninties. I believe that the first available was gay content. |
