Bloody sponsors again! Why...
...why is it that sponsors create now affiliate sections which are close to useless?
I know: this seems to become my peeve annoyance at the moment... LOL (or rather CRY) As it stands I have enough trouble working the sponsors I have an account with (mostly because they're making my life so hard, instead of supporting me!), but a few days ago I signed up with a new program which offers several sites I thought I could sell well with my traffic: joinrightnow.com Gosh, whenever I had thought an affiliate section couldn't get worse, I'd been totally wrong... |pissright And now this year's winner in the category "worse affiliate section"; the "SilverCash Award" goes to: - - - tension - - - I can't get the envelop opened joinrightnow.com --- roaring applause! --- A well deserved award: · it's impossible to get more than a single linking code at a time! · and the banner section beats all other contestants: you get one page per site they're having, listing the banner names and file sizes, and link which opens each and every banner in an individual new browser window! So if you want to compare all 30 banners for one site you have 32 browser windows opened at once, and 30 locations to save from (in case you want them all)... · in their favor speaks: they're offering TGP gallery templates, but again: no thumbnailed previews, the only option to see them is by opening the full page galleries (again each one in a new browser). Before 2 templates had finished loading the Final of the Australian Open had started, so I turned my computer off without getting much at all - and I'd been logged in for over 45 minutes... Gosh: I'd wish SunnyDollars would be doing better for me: at least I get all banners of one format in a simple zip file! It's a real shame, because I still think their sites are promising... But why do they let a programmer design their front end? Reminds me of my dbase business program I used in the mid 80's... I re-wrote it completely because for every little step you were supposed to go back to the "Main Menu"; so you had a new customer you first open 'customer' then enter details, then from the main menu make an akward connection to the relevant sales rep, then go back to the menu, open 'invoicing', try to enter the correct customer id to write an invoice, etc... First thing I did: link from customer to 'invoicing' - and never again did we write long invoices which were for the wrong customer, and then had to be credited again item by item...

I gotta say I do hate SilverCash's inside. Haven't looked at the JRN.
Nothing worse than not being able to grab all the links from one spot. |

I usually ask them if they have a page that displays all the link codes & if not, ask them to email them to me & advise them it'd be a good idea to put that option in the admin area.

I saw weird stuff in that place last night. Weird, strange, sick, twisted, eerie, godless, evil stuff. And I want in
|
you should email JRN with descriptions of all what you consider as problems, dugmor is a cool and reasonable dude so i'm sure he'll take into consideration what you dont like.

I know it's best to contact sponsors about such shit, but honestly, if they don't have the time to test their interfaces, I don't have time to report all of the bugs. Gotta agree with George about JRN too. I really don't want to select from templates and tours a give blood just to grab galleries. TCG, for example, has like 40 billion FHGs and all I have to do is select which site I want them for.

I love SunnyDollars new admin and one day I'm going to get a 30" LCD so that I can see all of it without scrolling.

But I must confess: it was in the middle of me fuming about all these issues, so it probably wasn't the best way to introduce myself... Then again: in all fairness - I had a very easy day yesterday and was in a really good mood until I logged into their webmaster section, so I guess they got what they deserved. Just to make it plain clear: I like all my link codes on one page, preferably in way that I can simply copy them into notepad/editpad and save as a txt file! I like to get an overview of what banners are available, and I like to see the banners all at once! Sometimes I pick only individual banners, sometimes none, only when worth it I save all (at once). I almost always build off-line, and don't want to have to log in just to get some stupid code and/or graphic/banner. Where possible I even use my notebook on the verandah, meaning I first would have to boot up my main computer to get something I could otherwise cut-n-paste in 30 seconds from my off-line folders (which usually are well organised as far as sponsors go). re. SilverCash: they're hurting themselves - I find I mostly still advertise sites with codes and banners from before their upgrade to the terrible interface... Why? Because it's such a pain to get new things.

Hi! I did get your email last night, I responded as soon as I got it.
Just to let everyone know, we have text galleries with descriptions for all the sites in a downloadable format. You can just copy and paste the gallery links into notepad and you are ready to go. Its in the hosted galleries / text list. Gotta agree with George about JRN too. I really don't want to select from templates and tours a give blood just to grab galleries. TCG, for example, has like 40 billion FHGs and all I have to do is select which site I want them for. We also have that, you can choose to have them per site or a mix of all the sites together. We also have a random option if you dont care about templates and girls Preview here As far as the banners, we did have the preview option before and then people complained about the pages loading to slow! We will be adding the zip options per banner size. That is a good idea. Again, we always welcome your suggestions as we try to cater to all of you =) I'll have my guys work on that this week. You can always reach myself or dugmor on ICQ if you need any help Slim!: 91687719 Dugmor!: 45771964 |

Slim! answered most of your questions in an e-mail but just to add we are happy to get your feedback so we can improve our system.
We are constantly making changes to improve it. We have added some many options since we started I guess for new affiliates just signing up it may take some time to get around. |

Ooops - the replies actually ended in my 'spam' folder and I misstook them for some bloody advertising for diet pills (or whatsoever) - but then with a sender name "Slim!" - what to expect - every email where the sender name is in quotation marks (sign they didn't come from the domain shown in sender address - your's is dugmor.isprime.com) are viewed with suspicion, and unless I recognise the sender straigth away they never get opened - sorry!
still: I would like to get my regular link codes (the ones I use for banner or text links) in one file! I wasn't talking about hosted galleries... Some of us old-fashioned guys (and gals) are still running non-TGP style sites - LOL

Some of the most incredible affiliate programs with sites you wouldn't believe could possibly convert as well as they do have the worst affiliate and stats system you could imagine. I'm glad people don't use them as much and keep wasting their traffic on the crappy sites/fancy affiliate frontend type programs.
I don't know much about joinrightnow thoug, but remember its all about the size of the check |

Before I join a new sponsor, which I actually don't do much at all [maybe 2-3 per year, for various reasons, bankcharges being one], I first inspect the tours with the surfer in mind, second look for their reputation (or who's involved), and then let it simmer in my bookmarks for a week or two. So wherever I sign-up should feel honoured - LOL - if I'd only be that important...

We do feel honored and our reputation for running a long running honest program is outstanding. We take pride in the look and feel of our sites and have no problem boasting amazing conversions and retention ratio's based on industry standards. We have been building JoinRightNow for years now and I guess it was like building additions onto a house. We are already in the process of tuning up the webmaster affiliate area to make it easier to find the tools you need. We welcome feed back to perfect it. Constructive Criticism is always welcome. I guess this is the first award we got on greenguyandjim , so hopefully our next will be for the "best affiliate section"; |

My addition to that list would be
Platinum Bucks Full screens their back end and since I run dual monitors it is a pain in the ass to look at. Cannot resize it down. I have not figured out WHY these programs simply cannot make their backends simple. Don't they realize no one really cares about all the fancy stuff, they just want to check their stats, get their promo tools and leave.

Until 4-5 years ago almost all sponsor sites were simple, and I never had any problems getting what I wanted! And then some hype started making them more script driven, adding Flash and whatelse, and poor souls on modem couldn't use them at all anymore! Almost the entire time I'd been overseas with my old notebook (only runs Win ME, and with 128 Mb of ram no way I update to XP! *) and dial-up modem access I simply could not get into the majority of sponsor sites! They either crashed the system or stalled during download. So for about 10 weeks I'd been almost without any new information, updated stats, and all the other stuff you want to get. *)and no: I'm not thinking about upgrading any time soon: here at home I might use it a few times to build galleries and pages, some thing it does rather well, and once a year (or maybe twice) I take it travelling - so the next time I would be going o/s there's sure to be something better out again - for half the price! Most of the time it's spending in its bag on the shelf...

I guess I might as well recycle my existing thread for this:
Bloody another sponsor who's not replying: Adult Friendfinder! Looks that I can give up writing to sponsors, since the average reply rate is 1 out of 6 or 7 = waste of time! To Adult Friendfinder I sent an email three days ago with specific questions about their Geo Tracking Ads - since I seem to unable to get them to work... Don't have a clue if that has to do with the fact that I made my computer relatively spyware secure (I have XP Sp2, a small htastop, and dsostop installed), or that my particular ISP runs a weird set-up (across the entire continent), or simply that the code I'm using is faulty... no wonder that I never get any work done...
