Sponser RSS Feeds?

Ok is it me or do some of these sponsor not know what a feed is? I see a bunch of sponsers who have no clue what a feed is or what bloggers use it for.... i see a one word title and a discription and its linked to a gallery?? some arent even linked?

is it to much of a hassle to make good blog posts?

RSS Feeds are versatile remember and where not originally designed to feed blogs, although if each xml tag within the feed is utilised and populated properly then yes they can be very effective at filling up a blog.

My guess is that most program owners are simply setting them up to produce a series of links to hang in the sidebar of a page or something similar.

I agree that most sponsors are not addressing bloggers when they develop their RSS feeds. My belief is that it is seen as a way for TGP's to easily add sponsor hosted galleries. With scripts like RSS2HTML it's pretty easy to incorporate the feeds into almost any site.

Yes, it is. Bloggers know that quality posts don't simply fall out of one's ass - it's a time-consuming creative process. Even smallish 100 word posts become increasingly difficult to produce after a short period, especially knowing that a great many webmasters/bloggers are NOT going to use them because every other blog is using them (and they fear dupe content). Add to that the fact that bloggers demand the feeds to be updated multiple times per week when you've already lost new ways to discuss the same damned site or sexual topic.

That's why you end up with shit posts or nothing more than ridiculous gallery link feeds. RSS feeds that are worth listing on one's blog(s) require a lot of work, and often, the payback isn't there for the sponsor.

well, you are kinda right, but listing just gallery+description is same stuff, since all tgp'ers will list same gallery

anways, most of the sponsors are producing good feeds already, but it can be better as usual

I think that one of the issues bloggers face is that a great many sponsors announce that they have RSS feeds, but they don't tell you what the feed contains. It's very understandable that bloggers get tired of having to test aggregate everyones' feeds just to see if it's of value to them. It would be simple enough for them to have a little "Test Our Feed Now" button so that an affiliate could instantly see what type of info the feed contains (blog posts, gallery links, cam show schedules) on the sponsor site without having to aggregate it, then have to go back and delete a feed they'd never use.
