I won't be around much tomorrow

I have to make some arrangements for my Grandmother tomorrow. The Hospital called to let me know that she is not doing better and I should come in to go over some things. I am her emergency contact since my father moved away so I guess I have to make all decisions.

Anyway, if I am back in time, the newsletter will go out. If not, probably Saturday. That is unless something else comes up.

She is still hanging in there. But, she is 84, has pneumonia, in ICU and the hospital says I should be there tomorrow. Who knows? I always cause trouble at hospitals. Since my mother died because the doctor was on vacation and could not put the filter in that caused here pulmonary embolism, I have no patience for them. I find myself screaming at the nurses and doctors a lot.

Yep Pat, my family is getting awfully small. I think everyone has a leader (matriarch or patriarch). My Great-Grandmother was and then my Mother. I was always happy with that. And now, it's me. Making all these decisions sucks. If my Grandmother does come through this, the next move is putting her in a nursing home. No matter what happens, the outlook is bad for her.

Sadly the older you get the more people that you know die.

On the plus side the holidays are much more peaceful and I spend way less time bailing people out of jail.

ugh.. life can turn on it's head sometimes..

For me, grandparents and parents are gone already except for my grandmother on my mothers side who is 100..

All of my last year was going through my mother passing away and just working on moving on and such.
I wish you strength and good support

I feel for ya man,I had to make the decision afew months back to take my mom off the machines.
But in my heart I knew it was right.I only have sibblings left in this world now.

Don't know what to say Jim except that I wish her the best.

Our family has one terrible history with cancer and lost my Dad and Mom so young to it.. and Grandma too.

Glad she is still hanging in there... that generation sure is tough. It sucks to all of a sudden be the one to make those kinds of decisions... that part of "passing the torch" never did sit well with me.

Although, she has the meanest room mate I have ever seen. She came in the room and told me to get my ass off the heater
