new server needed (or 2) - VERY SOON!

Yep - my server's dying...
I don't know if of old age or overload - probably a combination of the two!

So I thought before I commit myself I'd like to tender it for some quotes - what I roughly need:

managed hosting
P4 2.8 (or similar, could be AMD)
prefer 1 gig RAM
fast enough to run 2 medium sized Thumbnail TGPs (10k/daily - hopefully more soon!) with scripts, etc.
2 IPs for TGPs
storage is not such an issue (since small HDs seem to be a thing of the past)

plus:
my gallery traffic, currently ~2.5 to 3 mbps and growing
another 2 IPs
no scripts needed (except stats)

My preferred solution is to have the TGPs and galleries on 2 seperate machines, since I'm not happy with the current situation where either everything's running fine, or all sites are affected by the same server problems. If the two are physically on seperate servers I feel less vulnerable.

I guess the current gallery volume could go onto a virtual server, providing
I get 2 individual IPs
and the other acounts aren't running scripts to slow down the server...

Please replay asap - this is rather urgent!

PM or george| at |tropicheat-dot-com, and please don't send me to webpage price lists!

ps: I'm not much online the next 2 days...

From what you've posted, it looks like 2 dedicated machines would really be overkill. At least 2 p4 2.8g machines.

I could set you up on 2 semi-dedicated accounts on seperate machines that would easily handle your processing and bandwidth requirements.

If you like, have a look at our info at http://www.highcountryhosting.com and get me through the contact page and we can work out a special price.

I'll also help you move all your sites. No setup fees, no charge for moves. And if you decide to go non-dedicated, the first month is free.

I host with Powerstorm Hosting and have never been happier with another host. I honestly think that you should check out everything that they have to offer. I'm sure that they can more than satisfy your needs

Thanks to everybody who has replied so far!
I realise that being Easter is not a good timing - but then: when is a good timing for a server to go down?

Unfortunately it's as I had thought: all replies which go directly to a webpage link with pricing turn out to be too expensive, in some cases 80%+ over other quotes (hard to be a reseller, isn't it?)

And I agree:

And to all guys who have replied:
sorry, but none of the quotes was tempting enough to lure me away from my current host phatservers - some were a little cheaper, but the margin was not large enough to jump into unknown waters... Hard to beat almost 3 years of mostly trouble-free hosting (apart from the last 6 weeks).

The only on-line pricelist which looks kinda interesting is webairs (but they didn't reply)...

Hosting is one of the most serious decisions you should make when it comes to your business.
We trust Brad & Corey at Mojohost.com with our business. Quality bandwidth, amazing service and pricing. They won't try to sell you more than you need, and the first month of course is free so that you can move and tweak everything.
I don't get anything from this referral- I am merely a fan, and a very happy client.

It looks like my last post wasn't clear enough, so here once again in bold large letters:
I have come to a decision, and have pre-paid new arrangements already!

Specially sorry for Luke that he missed out - his offer was rather decent
Webair hasn't even replied to an email enquiry - looks like their entire office was closed for Easter!

I decided to stay with my TGPs at phatservers, mostly thanks to Mike Wesson, their excellent tech.
And I guess Sly wasn't persuasive enough to keep me for my galleries, hence I signed up with a different company for cheaper bandwidth-heavy traffic.

Once again thanks to everybody who replied!
