I am buying textlinks on sites with PageRank 5 and higher
I'm looking for a PR boost, not traffic.
If you have a site with PR5 > and don't mind making extra money, then send me your URL and asking price to: stormclaw [at] gmx.net Payments are done thru PayPal or Epassporte. |

Why pay? Enough webmasters should be willing to make a fair trade.

is buying text links illegal ? btw, you are much more likely to get banned for trading reciped links. google might mistake it for a link farming. |

I don't really know for sure but it would be my guess that Google would look down on buying links just for PR.
You posted this on at least two boards and I would guess that Google does have some idea of what is going on at the boards. IMO natural linking is the way to go, not buying links. |

PR link buying is going on everywhere.
There are PR9 sites that sell links. Its very common. http://www.prprowler.com |

It's times like this I wish I could find the link I had to the mainstream design newsletter declaring Google's page rank dead. It also stated that PR has always been based on a haphazard algorithm which was destined to fail.

and... http://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html IF this person is so good at getting PR? Why is he telling you? or Why is he selling you software for 80 bucks that can do the same? ARE you telling me that he cant make more money getting top ten listings whenever he wants......... rather than selling crappy software? IF he sells the software to 1000 people..... they cant all be top ten for the same keywords can they. PR alone = NOTHING DD

RE -"If google saw this tread - you would be banned." Possibly, but the odds on someone from Google seeing this thread have got to be about the same as winning several state lotteries on the same day and also being hit by a meteor before collecting.
Personally I would never pay for a link like this, but DarkJedi's logic is sound. The only downside is that he will probably find that most webmaster's have an inflated idea of the value of a PR5 and want too much money for a link. Or worse, DarkJedi may have an inflated idea of the value of a PR5 and pay too highly them. |

Oh, and if you are worried about being banned by Google, they don't like link trades either, and that is easier to spot (eg a few years ago when they changed their spider to look for this, the traffic to good TGP sites from Google dropped to about 20% of what it previously was because they started to ignore linkbacks (and some WMs say that they even penalized sites for them))

The whole PR thing was just a gimmick Google came up with to get people to install their toolbar and use them back before they became the status quo for SEs. |

Since when are link trades and buying links a bad thing?

From our point of view they are not, but the idea of pr is sites that linked to you because they think you are good, not because you asked them to (i.e. Google see it as an unsolicited recommendation). That is why Google bots are supposed to ignore trades. It is rumored that because they cannot catch all trades that when they do catch one the penalize the pr because they assume there are more that they did not catch.

LOL, banned from where ? GreenGuy&Jim board ? They dont know what site im buying links to. BTW, they'd ban you too for the link farming. Google doesnt like it either. But thats not likely at all. Because you and I both offer surfers content. We dont Hijack top serps only to send surfers to sponsors. Google goes only for heavy spammers and deals with little over-optimizers by built-in penalties. To other posters: As for PR having no value - keep thinking that. Do you oftent see site in top 3 with PR5 ? They're atleast PR6. PR7-PR8 almost guarantees you top spots. |

Fact - I have sites/pages in Google at #1 that are PR 3 - so PR is not the only determinant No one said PR had no value. - I said - "PR alone = NOTHING" PR 6-7-8 will NOT garauntee you top spot in any SER, there are at least 10-100 other factors that will influence it's position DD

Yes, but the same goes for any traffic trading. Say, for example you flame me in another thread and I want revenge, I could just as easily send them to wherever the traffic trade link in your signature goes to, and that would be preferable to them because you no doubt have the URLs you want trades on listed, they could just cut you off in an instant. But if they wanted to cut DarkJedi off after seeing this thread they have got to find him first.
Bottom line : Yes we could all someday get penalized or dropped by Google, but if we get paranoid about every little thing we may as well give up on SEO, close down our sites, and see if K-Mart is hiring. |

FYI: I like DarkJedi - he's one of my best submitters to my LL. He asked for advice I'm offering it. Not to mention: 1. The price 2. Are the people selling the link gonna be there tomorrow? 3. No matter how high the PR. Are the links relevant? 4. How many other people are they selling links to? And much much more.

RE - "He asked for advice I'm offering it" Hell yes that is what we are all here for. My posts may come across as curt but that is just because I try to edit them for length. I am not knocking anyone, just giving a different opinion. Sorry if anyone took it otherwise.
