Anyone? This is really my 'go to' board for quality opinions. I could specifically use marketing advice. Too many links, not enough...organization could be changed, etc...

I've never seen a site like that with the board built into it (except for webmaster resource sites) so I don't think my opinion would be of any use to you

It's a board with a bunch of banners, not really much else to say about it.

How are you going to get posters to it?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. You want surfers to go here and register and then look at images and hopefully signup from that?

That was my concern too. It hasn't happened yet. I'm really surprised a bunch of tens haven't come on.

Most people aren't finding the Photo Gallery based on photo views. The gallery has a lot of features.

I have done a couple nights on AdWords under specific model names. The Ad takes people straight to the models landing page.

e.g. Briana Banks goes to:

http://www.silkyerotica.com/forum/Br...s/m-100/tm.htm

...and so on.

I also tweaked the banners to what the highest click through rate was...Briana always has a high CTR.

A good thread or two will be indexed and Google/Yahoo loves this board. Not for competitive phrases, but more secondary phrases...if people post.

I went live last Wed. Just eneabled Search Engine Friendly Friday.

There's just no way I can check every sponsor. I got a sign up for nscash yesterday 1 in 27 uniques at the time.

But I think people are seeing more or less what you are seeing.

I need to spruce up the top header with some images/icons. The next version will have a custom 'My Forum' home page and gallery enhancemets.

I'm going to build some free sites off the domain when I get to it.

Is there any aspect that could get listed at Link Lists?

As far as getting listed at link sites I think your better off making feeders for it other wise your gonna have to make it fit the rules as in banners ect

This is what I figured. I expected a 1-3 month lag before any traffic started coming in regardless of what I did.

Starting a message board in and of itself is very tough- no matter what it is.

I only have 1/2 my content up- but it is all open to Guests as of now.

As far as the board is concerned, I need feeder sites like you mention, but I also need people to converse about the chicks so threads will get indexed in SE's.

I'm wondering if I should close off some galleries to Guests. As is they have not much incentive to join unless they want to enter a poll.

Wish I could get some mebers of RAME on my board. The Mod killed my genuine post. That usenet group is ideally the tone of content I want. Hmm...

I have found that a great way to build forum acitivity is to buy advertisements at forums of a like mind.

I dont mean spam them, that's the worst thing you can do. It creates animosity.... but purchasing ads at already popular forums can be a great way to build your own forum community.

for what its worth though, the adult discussion boards that I have seen or been a member in the past are very difficult to moderate and maintain, as it can attract some really seedy folks.

I don't want people linking to images or linking in general.

Right now any link is automatically stripped.

I'd rather it be super slow and me having to ban people that did that. I can also disable the image tag per forum. I think there is something in the works that will automatically flag any post for Mod approval that contains an attachment or image link.

Boogie: 'tis true. I was worried my board would become gfy'd in short order. Yeah- shaping this community will be tough. But if it can be done on USENET it can be done on the web.

If it becomes a PITA, I'll kill it and just switch to all typical free sites. but- I had to give it a whirl.

Thsu far out of 4,000 uniques and 36 members I haven't been spammed yet. I thought I'd be playin' 'wack-a-mole' with spammers.

You guys got me thinking on the hotlinking thing. That will cause the death of a board and pisses modem users off.

I'll tweak the layout around and consolidate areas with pics and lock those areas.

The other categories- I will disable the image tag.

I have owned a 'movie posting board' for a few years now and think this idea of yours has merit no kidding. I have to deal with all sorts of people doing dastardly deeds, but for the most part it runs pretty smoothly. I think this could turn out to be a money maker for you. I would also think about adding other areas as well........maybe not quite so niched, add slowly and mature the board. find posters your trust, make em mods. keep it growing and i think it'll attract exactly what ya want

I'll be consolidating all the porn categories into one area that has the pics. I was going to do this this AM.

It'll be a bit less overwhelming when first visiting.

I suppose I'll have a main discussion area and keep the other categories.

I also need to populate my banner script so banners rotate.

I can tell people stop by to see if there's anything new. It seems most are waiting to post. I know it's usually 1% of registered members that get active posting. Friggin' lurkers. Well, makes my life easier to move the structure around.
