Black Listed and need help please
Hi everyone,
I have recently started to submit free sites to get traffic to our pay sites. I first started with a few free sites last year about this time and did pretty well. In fact many of them still get traffic. That is why I choose free sites over TGP's for now. That and I am trying to target SE traffic as well. Here are some of my recent sites. Any feed back is appreciated. http://teens.free-porn-hangout.com/r...ting/index.htm http://big-tits.free-porn-hangout.co...onde/index.htm http://amateurs.free-porn-hangout.co...babe/index.htm http://babes.free-porn-hangout.com/bad-girl/index.htm http://teens.free-porn-hangout.com/hot-blonde/index.htm Those are just a few. My problem is usefulscripts.com apparently blacklisted me because my sites came up 404 yesterday for about 3 hours. This was not my fault. It was my host XXXWebHosting. As you can see I am using third level domains and they are all on one IP. Well when their DNS server updated yesterday all my third level domains went down and they all came up 404. After an hour on the phone I finally got it resolved. Today when I made my submission to Smut Gremlins I see this page leading me to a usefulscripts.com page that says I have been blacklisted because of this error by my host. I emailed for an appeal. What I would like to know is who else shares this database? Do I bother to submit now until this is resolved? I'm not a fly by nite webmaster. If you do any checking on my sites you can see we have been at this for a year and half, we've spent alot of money shooting exclusive content, building pay sites, setting up an affiliate program and now we are finally concentrating on traffic. Yes I know I have a long road ahead of me, but I'm pretty frustrated that I was blacklisted before I even got started. And all my free sites have exclusive content. I don't think my free sites suck. I would think most LL would be happy to list my sites. Any insite anyone can give me is much appreciated. |

So what is up with using subdomains?
Nothing wrong with them other then they often seem to go 404 after a short time. |

Well the sub domains where my partners idea for SEO. I really don't know if it helps are not. He's the one how has been studying up on SEO. If its not a good idea we won't use them anymore. I never did before myself.

I have no idea if they affect SE traffic at all, but it does send up a big red flag with link list owners.

From an SE point of view.. overuse of subdomains can be seen by some engines as "domain spamming" and can be penalised.
I agree with Cleo .. I personally hate subdomain free sites as they invariably go missing in server moves, upgrades and DNS changes. DD

yeah I guess I can understand why, especially since alot of free hosts etc use sub domains, which would often lead to sites disappearing after time. I never imagined my own subs domains would go down, esp because of a goof by my hosting company. I have to say for the most part I have been pretty happy with them.
Any chance I can successfully appeal the blacklist? or do I use another domain, email addy and stay away from sub domains? I suppose regardless I will be better off not using sub domains. I plan to submit to LL regularly. Thanks for your help Cleo. |

DangerDave,
Thank you for your reply. It looks like I will not be using any more sub domains. |

I'm no SEO expert, but I have tried a couple of experiments with subdomains and in my limited experience, they have had zero or negative effect on my search engine listings.
As I said I'm not expert so maybe I just didn't use them correctly. My 2 bits. |

I'll pull the listings, but next time, don't submit an appeal & then come to the board an hour later - LOL - I do sleep from time to time

Sorry about that GG. I had never been black listed before and I guess I panicked. Thanks for pulling the listings and from now on I will not be using sub domains.
