Opinions Needed On New LOR Index Page Please :)
You know how when you use Headings (<h1>, <h2>, etc.) in your HTML there's a lot of extra space under the text compared to regular non-Heading text? Well, I've been playing around with adding a style to the Heading tags on the Link O'Rama index page:
Code:
<h1 style="line-height:125%; margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0;">Greenguy Link O'Rama</h1> A - if everything looks the same to everyone. 2 - what everyone's opinion on the new "style" is. Here's the links: New Page With Styled Headings - Old Page Without Styled Headings Personally, I like the new styled version, but don't let that influence your opinion Thanks In Advance! |

That is something that I learned about a few days ago doing the Dreamweaver lessons.
This is how the book had me do it in the stylesheet instead of doing it inline. Code:
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, p { margin-top: 0; /* removing the top margin gets around an issue where margins can escape from their containing block. The remaining bottom margin will hold it away from any elements that follow. */ padding-right: 15px; padding-left: 15px; /* adding the padding to the sides of the elements within the blocks, instead of the block elements themselves, gets rid of any box model math. A nested block with side padding can also be used as an alternate method. */ } |

I do that to my H tags too, usually the way Cleo mentions, but sometimes inline like you're doing.
That said, I wouldn't go all the way to margin zero. Maybe have at least a couple of px of breathing room above and below. Particularly below the "Home Of The Original Greenguy (Est'd 1996)" where it jams right up against the "Official Legal Bullshit Warning" box. Actually I like the old version fine, with more green/whitespace to let the page breathe. Though on the old version I'd reduce the margin space below the "GREENGUY SAYS DON'T VISIT THESE FREE XXX LINKS AND PORN WEBSITES IF:" line so the rules underneath come up just a bit. But not as tight as on the new version. </opinon>

I also like the old version better.
The css code that I posted is supposed to be used as a baseline and then classes are used to set individual elements. |

What Cleo said.
Looking at the two layouts, I think the new one looks maybe a little crowded. Space is good, usually...but the old one has too much space imo. Since css gives you a lot of flexibility with spacing, you could leave the 'Greenguy link o rama' and the logo tight against the top, and maybe use some spacing before and after the warning. You can go crazy by having different css styles for each header tag (H1 different from H2, and so forth). Btw, the two horizontal buttons (rta and asacp) at the bottom followed by the vertical bar kinda reminds me of a penis, lol. |

I like the old one better, but then I like having a bit of empty space around the text so that the eye can find it.

I agree with everyone that said a little space is a good thing. The old one has a little much and the new one not enough. Just my 2 cents.

A woman is like beer. They look good, they smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one!

cuts are good, make links below "Enter The Greenguy Link O'Rama Main Page" display on my screen with last thing:
"If you have just become violently ill & don't wish to stick around & view the Link O'Rama Free Porn Sites," last thing I see on old index: Greenguy's animation under "Enter The Greenguy Link O'Rama Main Page" ; )

The new looks seems nice...
Also Cleo is right, go with style.css file... Drop the inline css (just as last resource)
