Penguin 2.0 Losers: Tube Sites

I watched the SERPs dance after Matt Cutts announced last night on Twit.tv another Penguin update. According to SearchMetrics the biggest losers were blah blah and "porn" sites. However, the only "porn" sites listed within the top 25 were all tube sites. Here's an analysis from Search Engine Land.

Cutts said if you see anything spammy still ranking to let them know via the special Penguin Spam Report.

Greenie, you may want this in your Search Engine section...but it's kinda a General Knowledge thingy too.

Some big porn sites, including some of Manwin's and Xhamster and such got hit pretty hard by Google's latest Penguin filter that ran last night:

I don't want to grin too long as it's adult in general that's suffering, all of us are on the list, albeit it slightly further down.

Not sure how many people actually would search for the term "Cleo's Porn" but it's nice to see that once again I'm number one for it.

I'm feeling simultaneously cheered and vexed by this latest one. Yay the tube sites got booted but now all the results seem heavily skewed towards news sites. Like, if it's got a date in front of it and it's a major media organization, it gets ranked first. Which feels like Google has just handed the internet back to the old guard and now we have to suck up to the various journalists to try and get mentioned in an article.
