Question Word Press Performance

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help me. I run a adult humor/babelog site that runs on asp/access.

The problem is that as soon as my site starts getting heavy traffic it chews the server's resources. I would like to convert my site so that it uses the wordpress news engine but would first like to know what volumes of traffic wordpress can handle?

sn8kbyte,

I know that my server handled my max traffic day like a breeze. I have the ds2 plan from m3server.com though.

Was a pretty fair chunk of folks as well

Beyond that I'd suggest checking around at the wordpress support forum:
http://wordpress.org/support/

and I'd love to hear what you find out by posting there.

I would imagine that wordpress would do fairly well at higher volumes (6 figure uniques)

Hi Boogie,

Thanks, I found this thread - http://wordpress.org/support/topic.php?id=29399

Looks like it can, and there are plugins that render static pages. I guess the only way to find out is to try it.

If anyone else has any information I'd appreciate it

cheers
