Alternatives to Thumbsplus

I've been using thumbsplus for a long time but am in the market for a more current one with more features, maybe easier to use.

what do you use and what can you suggest?

Yes I use SuperJPG. I find it very easy to use, muchmoreso than T+. The company is out of business though, so I don't know the legality of sharing it. It could be abandonware. If you want to know more about it, hit me up on icq: 13386630.

I use Arles for batch thumb creation and optimizing/resizing larger images.

Yep, I use SuperJPG...although no longer available...great software.

I also use Ulead Smartsaver when SuperJPG doesn't give the desired results. Very easy to use and also allows batch processing

Take a look at EyeBatch - www.atalasoft.com It does everything apart from making galleries..

I'm still using Thumbs+, but not anymore for batch processing (since I simply don't do batch thumbnails anymore!) - but to keep an overview of my images files und organize them Thumbs+ is certainly better than the feature in Windows XP (and, typically MS: not so resource hungry) - and since my database is always at the limit I'd hate the idea of moving to something different (it'll keep my computer busy for hours scanning all HDs and re-creating all thumbsnails, plus Thumbs+ works well across a network, too)...

I use Arles for making batch thumbs and creating some galleries but I still use ThumbsPlus 7 to organise my content.

I use Tplus for the whole process, batch compress and then use the web page wizard to make the thumbnails and then I just drag and drop into the gallery page.. only thing I hate about Tplus is that it names the thumbs jpg.jpg but other than that it makes nice looking thumbs..

Photoshop has batch automation options.
Some people also prefer to do it by hand, which is slower but you get a better end result.

I used thumbsplus for the longest time, but switched a while back to smaller animals, as amber mentioned. Easier, more flexible and could do more with it.

I stopped using ThumbsPlus years ago. For viewing and handling images, I still use ACDSee. For resizing images to make thumbs, I still use an old version of VuePrint Pro (I am a dinosaur). Everything I do is based off of templates, so I just need to drop images and thumbs into a folder, and the page is done. I never liked the HTML that ThumbsPlus delivered.

A great little program for quick batch cleaning, resizing and watermarking of images is DCE AutoEnhance. I let that thing run a huge batch of images, then have a quick look in case something needs further cleaning. 99.9% of the time, the pictures come out great.

All I've used for the past 9 years is SuperJPG. I tried others but none are as fast or as easy to use for me.
