CCbill questions

I'm almost embareassed to ask this one. But it has been a while (half a decade) since I promoted CCbill sponsors and I have finally decided, "what the hell, why not?".

I have one main account number that I merge all my other sponsor accounts under. I take it that I need to use each of these individual affiliate IDs and that I cannot just always use the main affiliate code (where everything is merged under and where I check my stats) ?

Also this &html= tag that some sponsors give us to use in our link codes. Are these really necessary and what options have we as far as these go? Can we for instance have it go directly to a join page if we wish by specifying the proper html join page and still have it track sales?

You still use the link code from each sponsor. The merge function just make it easier to check your stats and also combines eventhing into one payment.

The &html= lets you send traffic to a different page on the tour like straight to the join page. Also some sponsors use this to send the traffic to differnt tours like if they have a teen site and a shemale site.

Thanks. The &html= parameter then sounds quite useful to me.

Remember that not ALL sponsors allow the usage of &html parameter, meaning that it may not work. I can't remember exactly how the admin has that set up and stuff.

If anyone has very detailed information on how it works along with CCBILL's tracking system, I'd appreciate it. Ideally I'd like to understand it all fully.

Your sponsors will usually offer you a link generator on their site that will give you acceptable linking codes. I wouldn't make my own if I were you.

The CCBill sponsor needs to have "Multiple Redirects" and "Account Grouping" enabled in order for the &HTML to work. The later only if you are sending clicks to dif sub accounts under the main acct.

I agree with what has been said already. Be sure to grab the correct link codes.. and do not just point to any page you want. Talk with each program if they dont have any info about linking codes on their site or directly listed in ccbill.

CCBill allows for programs using their system to run multiple sites under the same program id. This would be the first set of numbers you see in the ccbill link code, CA=. For example: http://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi?CA=929024-0000&PA=938997&HTML=http://www.cutekristi.com. The PA= as you already know is your CCbill ID for that program.

Now, if the program has multiple sites you will need to use the &HTML= and the url that the program tells you to use.. you wouldnt want to start promoting a site only to find out later that you are using the wrong code... and not using the &HTML tag may cause an error message, which would mean you wont get any sales!

As for pointing to different pages on a site, it could work but you need to make sure the program you are using has that option enabled... I always ask the sponsor directly if ever I am unsure.

Hope this helps.

Important to note, some sponsors change the trailing digit of THEIR account number to denote different sites within the same program, such as

CA=929024-0000
CA=929024-0001
CA=929024-0003

etc.. Watch out for that

Thanks everyone this is helping me quite a bit with understanding.

About these features. When they are turned off when they were on previously, what happens? Does it notify the affiliates somewhere, do the clicks still go through and show in CCBILL even when the affiliate code is not actually being passed to the join form? What I am getting at is would this be a way that the untrustworthy could shave a bit.

Also I presume that I should be able to go to the join page and then do a search for my Affiliate ID for that program in the source. If I do not find it, this means I am not getting credit for signups, right? I know CCbill uses cookies and am wondering if it is pretty much the same deal for checking this.

Sorry for all the questions. I am just "one of those" who like to know fully the details behind the things I work with as much as possible.

If multiple redirects is not enabled then the redirect will not work. And I think it ignores everything to the right of the & and in such case will default to the main acct redirect url. (the account url part to the left of the &)

Account grouping is needed so you will get credit if the redirect goes to another subaccount under the main account.

Yes you can go to the secure joinform and find your code and the ref url if everything is correct.
