LL owners, do you really care?

Question to LL owners. Do you pay attention to submitters nicknames and do you really care who submit FS to your LL? If you remember some nicknames is there any benefit for them (better position or flexible rules or something like that)?

Just yesterday I declined a site from someone I knew to be on this board. I don't think we'd ever talked much, if at all. Ultimately it was a minor coding issue, but I spent my own time finding the problem and solution. I wouldn't have done it if he wasn't a member of this board.

And from a submitters point of view, it's certainly nice and very appreciated to get this extra help.

Beer is good. But submitting clean and great sites is better

I also appreciate the extra attention from several link lists. I had an extra } in my CSS that didn't do anything in IE but MrYum saw it in Firefox and my text was waaaay out of line with what I was seeing. He told me of the problem which I fixed immediately. Thank you MrYum, and others.

Everyone on this board is just awesome. I just started making free sites and without the help here and the extra mile some of the LL owners went to help, I don't know where I would be.

Thanks to every one of you.

Sometimes & it goes all ways :-)

The variants seem to be:

"Fuck! XYZ should know better!".

"Ahh what the hell, they can have a bit of slack".

"It's whatshisface subbing, a quick skim over and they'll be listed".

And occasionally......

"so XYZ is using an auto-subber / doesn't read Rejection Mails. Oh well, welcome to the shit list."

I've already lost count of the number of times that being a known member of GG&J has helped me get listed, or get a partner account, or saved me from mass rejection with a quick message telling me what I need to correct, etc etc. (Thanks folks - love you all)

So yes, your name definately does matter.
Making the reviewer's life as easy as possible is a key factor in freesite success. You should aim to be recognised as a known and trusted submitter, so that just seeing your name has reviewers hovering over that important "accept" button.

Well, then I'll make next 10 FSs only with pics and my nickname instead of ads and sales text

Yes, the reviewer remembers good submitters and their templates and tryes to list them higher.

I second this. It has happened a couple of times that I forgot to upload a banner or one of my pics wasn't loading and a quick email from a ll owner saved me.

Yep, that one happens all the time and it makes my life easier in the review process. If the person also sends nice clean free sites and is a board member I will throw them into other categories that the site will fit in with as well.

That is a biggie with me. People that don't read rejection emails usually don't even read the rules before submitting. And they keep sending the same stuff day after day. And do not get listed day after day.

I think most reviewers are more than happy to help someone out that is making an honest effort to build nice sites. But they can not help if the submitter doesn't even care about rules or why they have been rejected.

Absolutely true on all counts.

I've got some that submit exactly the same shit every day. Gave up on sending them mails a long time ago

I run an informal "3 strikes" kind of rule. (Informal as in I don't keep count or enforce it overly-zealously):

If they submit more than 3 or so sites consecutively with the same error(s) on it (submitted after the first Rejection Mail goes out), then they get blocked and I don't see their submits any more.

The Einstein & Insanity quote springs to mind :-)))
