First Freesite!
Hey guys,
Need some advice and critique on my first freesite - sponsor being my paysite. I've tried to follow as many rules as I could find, but god knows I always miss a little something here or there So before I submit I'd really appreciate a final word from you experienced guys out there - and see what you think! http://www.everydayslaves.com/freesi...les/enter.html much appreciated! |

Where there's a will, I want to be in it.

Looks fine to me. I'd list it.

Ahhh ... sweet pity. Where would my love life be without it?
|
In general it's a good site. I love the content
I'd suggest you put an "at everydayslaves.com" or something similar after the "Click Here to Take the Tour" and also after "Click Here to See More Real 24/7 BDSM couples", as you do on the galleries. On the main page you got a thumb linked to the sponsor site... that's a big nono. Some pictures are close to 200kb, prehaps a bit to large. Picture size is also good, but having 1000px is almost to over do it. 800px on one side should do the trick.

Thank you very much for the insight Sounds like some good changes, and I agree on the picture size! I was actually even thinking about taking the full-size pics off my tour...
...I visited a tour recently, and it had no big pics, just thumbs and it made me seriously want to join that site...a little off topic, but what do you guys think? |

oh sorry also, about the main page with the 2 thumbs linked to the sponsors...I thought it was ok to have 3 links out per page right?
unless you mean because it looks like a thumb, and I posted it as a link to the site - I think that might be it, I would need to put a "click here to see more" or something to make it look more like a conventional banner in order for it to be acceptable? thanks again |

Good looking site!
The first thumb on your main page would be considered a blind link since the surfer would expect to see the full size pic. |

It's not nice to steal templates. I gave you advise and a link on another board not freedom to steal my stuff. Thats not good etiquette.

Definitely a rip off of BD's site, I saw his link and advise to EDS on Cozy. Poor form indeed EDS.

BD is absolutly right!
Just as on Cozy I'm apologizing openly because it was seriously stupid of me to do so. Albeit I'll be completely honest, it wasn't really intentional. We all have large workloads, and we make mistakes...for me this is one of my mistakes...there is so much going on, and starting to get on freesites has been something that has taken a while to fit in. I believe what happened was I asked that advice a while ago, and then I built essentially the same site with the idea that once I have a freesite I know works I can mess around with it and make it my own and change up the template but at least I'll know that theres the proper amount of links per page and stuff. I think I just never got around to changing it up and making it my own and weeks went by and I decided I wanted to submit a freesite! I recently discovered greenguy and jim's resource here and decided to ask how my freesite looked. BIG NO NO. I understand. Balls I sincerely apologize. What I did was wrong, but in all honesty it wasn't really intentional and I do appreciate your bringing it to my attention. Have a good rest of your weekend guys! Edit: Just wanted to add, I know anything I say will most likely sound like bullshit, because whenever other people do wrong onto me, I generally think everything they say is bullshit too - so I understand if you don't accept the apology BD, I just sincerely hope that you do - your a stand up guy and I really really appreciated your help. There are much nicer free sites out there to copy. That wouldn't have been my first choice. If you choose to steal a different free site, choose one with these qualities:
*The navigation links are at least the same font size as the ad links. When you start off submitting free sites, you want to appear friendly to surfers. So don't use HUGE font sizes for ads and smaller fonts for site navigation. *Avoid keyword meta stuffing. That free site has over 70 keywords in the meta tags and most have nothing to do with the site. *Don't blind link images to a paysite tour - not even if they are immediately adjacent to sales text.

Thank you very much for the tips UW
I think my original idea of basically copying an existing site that I know follows the rules and making my own was a bad idea, mainly because I fucked up and waited a week or so between working on it and forgot to make it my own and change the template, and because like you said there are a lot of meta tags and hidden stuff that aren't related to the change in content. Going to start from scratch - I'm always just paranoid that I'm missing 1 little rule and the site will fail - which is why I wanted to start off with a site I knew would be accepted, but I suppose to just know the rules and be able to build something from scratch is the far better option now in retrospect again thank you! |
