Am I missing something? New to making/submitting TGPs

Hello all...
I recently created my first tgp gallery to submit to sites that allow fetish & bdsm content, but have had little success in getting them posted, even after I carefully read all the rules. Only one TGP owner accepted my galleries of 10. I uploaded their banner, limited each page to under 3 banners, etc. Could you take a look and see if I am missing something totally obvious?

http://www.vilehabit.com/tyranni3.htm

Thanks very much...if this helps, most of the tgp gallery pages I submitted to were from here on this site's traffic area.

I see a few things that you need to address.

1) The two links out to your web site are messed up and end up at a 404 page. I think you left the "http://" off the front of the link.

2) The gallery would look better if it was centered.

3) Recip links/banners are usually placed at the top of the gallery. Also, that first one with all the links in it needs to go. Most TGP's limit the number of outgoing links on your gallery to somewhere between 8 and 10, which includes recip links.

Get those things sorted out and I'd be happy to list any galleries you want to submit where at least half the images include boots

Im a newbie to gallery making too, but ill give you my feedback.

I dont like the font used in the banner at the top - is that your choice or one provided by the site? I would change it. I dont feel that the grammar is very good, which kind of implies an unprofessional site to me.

It needs to be centered definately. I dont feel the text should be all in one block - maybe space it out between the rows of images?

That ice castle link, what does that have to do with your site? imo it looks kinda out of place.

The recips look a bit of a last minute thought, maybe thats why the reviewers are turning you down? Show them you care about their sites.

Nice content though, gives a good feel for the site, and the colouring of the page seems to imply debauchery. Which is good

Hope that helps, im not trying to be horrible, just giving you my opinion.

Good luck

Thanks for the replies, the suggestions were really helpful.

I got one submission to go through that was auto-rejecting me before based on the recip with tons of links in it. To answer a question, the ice castle link is one of the recips I was submitting to. SecretEden, I don't think you were being horrible, I like constructive criticism, I am a masochist, ya know. |whip|

Thanks for the heads up on the missing links back to my site, Toby, yikes! I have lots of galleries with boots in them, I'll be sure to bookmark your page.

Does this look better? http://www.vilehabit.com/tyranni3.htm

Much better. I'd move the recips clear to the very top of the page above the header, rather than breaking up your gallery. I'd also move the bottom paragraph up the page one more row. Then I'd add one more line of sales text at the bottom with another link to your site.

Many things have been mentioned but here my thoughts.

Layout should be:
entire page centered!!
top of page - recips to the tgps you submit to with 2-3 lines before the gallery. Then...gallery header/banner then the pics.

Too much space on the bottom, not needed at all.
Pics are not great quality but for bdsm they are okay

Overall problem with TGP submissions is there are too many cheaters. People who after getting listed change the page. So being new like you are makes it hard to get lsited because the site owner doesn't know you. And the site owner might already get a ton of submissions to fill his site daily.

Thanks for your comments... I'm using dreamweaver and I must be slow because I can't find where to make the whole page centered in the layout except for the individual items. Have to check around the program some more. Hopefully I'll find a few TGPs that will accept my pages so I can get trusted by them.

I know some of the pics aren't as sharp as they could be, I have better ones from the set but I was in a hurry and was trying to get a few representative pics w/out giving all the best stuff away. They are vid caps.. my site is video focused, I'd probably do better at with movie page sites.

To center everything right after </head> add <center> Then after you enter everything you want on the page the very last tags on the page would look like this:
</center>
</body>
</html>

...OR... since your entire gallery is contained within a table.

Select the table (click within the gallery, then click the left most <table> tag in the status bar at the lower left of the DW screen.)

In the Properties toolbox change the Align attribute (drop list at top, to the right) to Center.

OK, let me translate.

Within the first table tag add align="center":

<table width="665" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">

Yup, that'll work for everything inside that table

Right, and it works in this case because everything is inside that table. But, that's also the case with most TGP galleries.

One other comment re: <center></center> tags. The <center> tag is deprecated in HTML 4.01. It still works but will cause a validation warning. The preferred tag is <div align="center"></div>

I know, picky picky picky.

Thank you! I started a new page for it because I already submitted the old one to a couple of tgp owners after the last edit. This one doesn't have any recips yet, but there is space for them at the top.
Both of the simple <center> and the div align worked for me, merci!

The standards for galleries these days is 15 images so I would add another row of pics. Even if their rules still say 12, they probably just haven't updated it. A lot won't accept video stills either (which I'm assuming those are).

Once you get the general format down it's not so tough. Just a bit of a learning curve.

Thanks, I just noticed after you posted that, some of the TGP owners have a 15 thumb min rule.

I have a new gallery, with recips: http://www.vilehabit.com/tyranni8.html

Another question, not directed at you, in particular, KCat:
I wonder if I am just wasting my time and I'd do better promoting our videos, since it is 'VileHabitVideo' not 'VileHabitVidCaps'
Next time I edit our movies I'll make some short clips for promotion. Are cybernet's free video galleries at http://www.free-hardcore.html a good model of industry standard for MGP's ?

If everything is in one table, in Dreamweaver (I use Dreamweaver UltraDev), just highlight the whole table then choose text>alignment>center. That is the easy way.
