Kay, I looked at your list, and a couple of things struck me right away:
1 - Many of your cheaters have javascript or other scripts on their page, directly or indirectly contributing to their cheating. 2 - Many of your cheaters are using "off brand" domains, including .biz, .co.uk, and other non .com .net domains If you filter out all results for these two issues, your cheat factor will drop by about 75% based on what I see on your site. You are responsible for your own misery - taking proactive action to block potential issues BEFORE they happen rather than cleaning up the mess after it happens is truly to best way to serve your surfers. Thanks for the post. I agree, taking a proactive approach is definitely best. However, just to make it clear, I'm not in any misery... cheaters have been removed and the lists are clean... I think it's important to share information so that others are also looking out and banning those that can't play by the rules. This is not to say that by having additional rules (what sites are permitted, etc.) that some of that couldn't be ruled out.... we do have honest webmasters that send hits from non .com/.net domains so banning links with all domains that use .de etc. may not be the best approach. Something I'll consider and keep an eye on for sure... just not what I prefer to do since that seems like punishing everyone for the perils of a few. On the java issue, that's a little tougher. I'm not sure what you are referring to as a potential solution there. If you have an example please let me know. I didn't see much java cheating... mostly image 1x1 sourcing, etc. Please feel free to elaborate. We all can learn something new or get a new perspective... that's what it's all about here. Thanks, Kay
