Internet! Is that thing still around?
|
New to the board! And a question regarding ARS :)
Hey there all.
Was just listening to the show, and one thing that I wondered (Might have been talked about, didn't hear the entire show) What is the difference between the new way ARS makes the "BYOT" program and the way some AVS companies do it? Not a negative thing, but to be honest I can't see how this should be so super inovative as some people says it is. |

That was the very first thing I was thinking when I read about it.
I don't use AdultBouncer myself, but knows AVS pretty well. The only difference I can see is the fact that other webmasters can promote your sites, but I also know at least one AVS which has this feature. |

Scenario 1:
You use their content to build the site, they host the site. Scenario 2: You use your own exclusive content to build the site, they host the site after you license the content to them. Either way, other webmasters can promote your site just like the old BYOTs. The question I have is what the license will say - and if they'll sign one that says if I decide to pull my site from the CHAMPS system, they'll no longer have rights to show my exclusive content. |

Eyecandy - I think the problem with your question is the way you worded it. "AVS" as defined by terms used 2 years ago is not like CHAMPS (BYOT)
CHAMPS of course IS like the new models that some "AVS" companies have adopted. I look at it as a way for me to promote different tours/niches in a very easy way. Carrie - I'm sure that info will be posted on the CHAMPS site when they launch |

Then it will be fun to see if in some time ARS will make a premium program which has some kind higher standards in design and so on - and gives a better payout. hehe The only thing I'm wondering now is how many webmasters will promote these new CHAMPS sites. From my calculations we would need about 250-300 signups to make the amount of money we would make if we where to make the same amount of work for a client (Making both tour pages, members area, banners and other promo plus preparing images and movies) And since we don't do that much in making traffic ourself, we would rely on other webmasters. But I do think it's at least worth a try as a designer to do this. A recurring income is always nice to have. |

I'm not a designer, so I only list what's available to me. Had ARS done this in 2 months & not 2 days ago, I would have had EVERY BYOT link listed on link-o-rama.com - as of right now, there's only 38 that I know of that I do not have listed - LOL
So yes, for me anyway, I'll be promoting the CHAMPS program just as I was promoting the BYOT's. |
