Rock stars ... is there anything they don't know?

Time for new cell service. Verizon, or Cingular?
Had Sprint for years now, and I am tired of their shit. What do you guys think? Anybody out there that has had both services, and liked one over the other?

Verizon and Cingular merged last year. They're still doing business under both names, but I'm pretty sure the plans and services are pretty much the same.

I've heard people complain about a lack of coverage with cingular, but that was a while ago. Things change so quickly in that industry.
Everyone I know who has verizon says they'll never switch to anything else... but that might not be a good thing either. AOL users are the same way.

I have Verizon & they are decent, but I really have nothing to compare them with since I've had them since that gobbled up the local company I got my 1st cell phone from. But I do like that you can combine your home & cell phone bills & they now have fiber optic internet (which I am on the waiting list to have installed) and that will also have DirecTV built into in with in the next year (and you can combine that bill with the other bills as well) |

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

I feel your pain. I have a microwave internet connection. It is pretty good, but nothing like cable or DSL. I'm 100 feet to far away from the central office for DSL. But I like the verizon and directTV joining up. I might have to check them out when my plan expires in a few months.
I have cingular and I have a horrible time with EVERY FUCKING PHONE CALL, after about 5 minutes, the person gets all garbled, then I have to hang up and call them back. It is a pain in the ASS. I don't know if it is my phone, cingular out in pahrump, or what, but it definitely drives me crazy. Doesn't seem to be dependant on where I am either. I have to wait until 9/16 until I'm eligible for a new phone...I just might get a new company at that time. Quote:

My husband and I both have Verizon and so does my mother-in-law that travels in a motor home all over the place. She calls me all the time and the reception is great. I'm happy with Verizon. I have DirecTV also but I have no clue what fiber optic internet is???

I have had Verizon, att and cingular. All of them sucked but I got the service for free from work. Now that I have my own cell, I use t-mobil and have to say it's the best service I every had. When I was in Pittsburgh I thought they would hit me with some hidden charges, but just got the bill the other day and there was nothing. Nationwide anytime minutes I guess really is nationwide anytime. Calls never drop and I get service in 99% of the places I go. I have friends who call and leave messages that I can barly understand. Mean while they will swear up and down it's my phone when other people call and I hear them fine. Amazing.

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

Both my husband and I and my daughter have Cingular, but are about to switch to Verizon. We have the same problem, the signal strength sucks for all three of us. I'm tired of the cut up voices, and walking around the house for a better signal..
