Pulling free sites down.
Since the new 2257 regulations are most likely being a reality I have decided to pull all of my free sites/galleries and just redirect them to a simple 404 page and make a fresh start when we all know what exactly is being required from us.
The domains that is being affected is, Babesandteens.com Pixelbeam.com Slickamateurs.com Just wanted all the link list owners know. |

I think we as an industry are doing little to educate ourselves or plan the future. I have clients who are sponsors saying they will give out IDs, in clear breach of the license, and to hell with the future. Then others are saying to hell with the US affiliate who wants free hardcore. And some are still talking to a lawyer, a year or nearly after the new amendments were brought out. |

Well, I don’t think its overkill. I feel that it would be to time consuming to go over all sites, contact the sponsors or the content studios and try to get hold on the ID’s and documents for all the content. Some sponsors I have contacted regarding this has not even replied, some tells me that they will be dropping some sites… So I feel it’s safer to remove the old stuff and go for a fresh start when we all now where this will actually take this business.

Obviously, you can't just swap in softcore if you have sites listed in hardcore categories. You'd be better off deleting them than breaking rules and thusly creating sites that aren't going to produce sales.
But but but, why not wait awhile longer? See what info trickles out the next few weeks. On the other hand, and this comment isn't pointing at just you mist, if anyone is shaken this easily without knowing all of the facts, I just assume they pull their sites.

It's not like porn is just going to go away if we're required to keep records and post our adresses. It does suck though, I wish we could fast forward a year and see where this is going, it's clear as mud right now . |

Not to mention the other sections of the porn industry using it as a reason for models not to work for Internet companies. They already tell models their privacy is safer with a $30 DVD from and adult porn shop, than it is on the free sites all her male friends a family surf. Telling the models that we're giving out her IDs will slam the lid shut I'm afraid. |

Let's not get too down on Mist or anyone else that does this - there will be a lot of people in the same boat that think it'll be easier to scrap what they have (and let people know like Mist is doing in this post ) and then start over with sites & content that follows the new law (assuming it goes into place)
If the new law goes thru, it'd be a HUGE task for most of us to get all out sites in compliance with it in any timely manner. |

I'm personally hoping that about 90% of everyone pulls their stuff down. As someone that came into this biz after the legends of what the money was like in around 1997 I wouldn't mind seeing this again.
On a side note I will NOT be banning anyone for having their stuff go 404 for the next couple of months. |
