Number one reason why I hate baseball
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2485365
The bullshit of throwing a ball 90+ mph at someone intentionally and all of those bench clearing “brawls” that are so rarely an actual fight. Nothing but fake drama that they have to have to get fans to come to the park and be willing to be bored for 3+ hours… if the game was so exciting why do the players on the bench have to find things to do like chew on seeds and play with their rally caps to keep themselves busy? |

Torn -
Try coaching once. BB is more like chess, 80% doesn't matter, the 20% does. At my level, the youngest ones, hitting a batter is bad pitch, but at the MLB level, there are some merits to hitting someone. Baseball fans will sit through a 1-0 14 inning game all the time. If you don't like watching it, you have the remote

And as the ratings show, so does most of America. I don’t care what the merits are, there is NEVER a good reason to intentionally hurt someone in a game, John Cheney got spanked pretty hard when he had his player to go "take the goon out" as he should have been since it was completely uncalled for and will tarnish his reputation for years to come. I have no desire for my nephew to learn that part of baseball, the part where it says its ok to bean someone with a 90 mph fastball since that is completely uncalled for, and anyone in the position to teach kids that and do teach kids that needs to get out of that position. |

And we have a game 7 for Lord Stanley!
After the way this series started I thought "sweep" for sure, but game 5 in OT I think was the best chance Carolina had to win the cup, now I think its all about the Oilers and if they can put the “cherry on top” on one of the greatest playoff runs ever if not the greatest. I've really enjoyed this series. |

I still can't name a single player or coach other then Gretzky, but I have watched the playoffs since I was in the Navy in the early 90's.

Here's an interesting stat for all you NHL hockey fans: 11 of 13 game 7 winners have been by the team with home ice advantage. With that being said, I think this series is completely different. That shorthanded overtime goal by Edmonton in game 5 swung the momentum in Edmonton's favor for good. But who knows. Anything can happen in a game 7 when everything is on the line. Should be a dandy!!

Tough Break? That was awful golf play. That was the lefty of old...not the one that has been dominating the past year or 2. Damn.

Hell of a game last night too bad the fucking Heat won, Wade is going to be a incredible (ok, more so) player, but for the love of the gods, enough with the "Wade is sick, Wade is hurt" shit, I didn’t believe it when Jordan "had the flu" and I don’t believe it now.
BTW, If the Heat win Wade MVP, if the Mavs win Terry MVP. |

Figures... first time in my life I rooted for a Dallas team...
Good to see Riley and Zo and Wade and Haslme get the ring, but fuck Shaq and Payton and Walker. Oh well, just more of "superman" and "greatest ever" BS.... ___________________ Edit for wrong guy. Last edited by Torn Rose; 2006-06-21 at 12:18 AM.. |

Shaq is good but I think Alonzo Mourning played better. The blocks and the bigtime dunks were crucial, wow. And let's face it, without Wade there'd be no championship. Walker is an idiot yes.
Good for Riley for sure, he's top notch! And that Shaq Superman shit gotta go. It's giving Superman a bad name. |

I would be shocked if Zo and Payton come back next year.
Wade... wow, what can be said? I think it is too soon to compare to MJ, but wow.... Hell of a class, Lebron, Carmelo, Wade... |

Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff has captured the 2005-2006 Jack Adams Award as "the NHL coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success," as selected by the NHL Broadcasters' Association.
Ruff edged Carolina Hurricanes head coach Peter Laviolette, 155-154, in the closet Adams vote since the trophy was first awarded in 1973-74 and the closest vote among all trophies in 2005-06. http://www.nhl.com/trophies/adams.html Way to go Lindy |

On the first play of the first practice, the Browns new center, 2 time Pro Bowler LeCharles Bently, gets rolled up on and is carted off the field with a air cast on his left leg.
Welcome back to Cleveland LeCharles. Sigh....

Yeah saw that, I hate when shit like that happens. I still think the Browns will be very tough; they had a great off season.
The 2 biggest turnarounds will be Cards and Browns with a big improvement from the Saints and I think a huge down fall for the Pats, age has finally caught up with them. |

Yeah, it looks promising. Lots of 'ifs' though. Counting on a lot of young players to step up and some veterans to put in one more good year. But that's football.
Our QB situation worries me though. I like Frye, and I don't think they'll put to much on his shoulders unless he proves he can handle it. They're already tailoring the offense to his strengths - putting in more rollouts and controlled scrambles, etc... But, if he goes down, we're in deep shit. I mean, Ken Dorsey? C'mon. Their backup plan? 93 year old Vinny Testerverde..............................
