Tools of the trade?
This graphic/web design class I am looking in to requires me to use a lot more software than I normally do when making web pages.
Adobe has a half dozen programs dedicated to web design, graphic design and image editing. I was wondering what programs you find the most useful in your work. Thanks. |

Another vote for Notepad++ here. That and VIM is all I use for page and css editing, really, though of course the web developer plugin is invaluable.

Komodo Edit for PHP/CSS/HTML (I don't know why I use it, I hate it. But I'm used to it)
GIMP/Photoshop Elements. Sometimes I have to use both on the same image to get what I want done. (I'm not well versed in either) DigitalColor Meter (Mac, there is a similar app for Windows) -- It's for grabbing color hex codes from anything on screen. I use it when trying to choose colors for web designs

Nice I see a lot of Dreamweaver, I have used Frontpage until this class. Sometimes when I set around working on sites I wonder if their is an easier way.
Thanks for the replies. |
