Monday & A Fresh New Week
Good morning
Monday mornings are always fun, it's a fresh new start... until you realize it's Monday and you have 4 more days to go before the weekend. I remember when we all at this board didn't care what day of the week it was since we were all self employed. Some still are but you all are as broke as the rest of us. |

It's Monday... I want more weekend and money.
So far my excitement for the day was ordering an electric inflater for my paddleboard since inflating it by hand really sucks. Just a day of web work and doing some house cleaning planned for this soon to be rainy day. |

It's an either/or situation, I'm afraid. You can have more weekend by taking Monday or Friday off (or both) but that means less money. Or you can do what I do - work weekends which means more money but less weekend (or often "no weekend").

Good Morning

The only reason I know it's Monday is because my wife went to her job which I feel I might need to do next year. Either that or I am going to start calling myself semi-retired and start pulling a little cash from those accounts. I figure between my retirement account, pension and S.S. I should be good for 25 yrs and I don't think I want to live longer than that anyways. Plus, healthcare here is so stupid and expensive that sooner or later it will bankrupt me so why not spend a little of that cash and enjoy a little more life now |

Seriously. I've been doing a LOT of research on the matter. WAY cheaper. Health care is good and cheap. Cost of living is insanely cheaper (20-40% less) and the quality of life is better (though in Cali you're pretty good already unlike Greenie and I). Costa Rica, Panama, even Mexico. Just research, sooooo many places. Big for British expats. I have a friend that works online like us (Canadian and non-porn related) who moved to Tamarindo, Costa Rica and LOVES it. Spent 1 winter there 2 years ago, came home in summer and moved there full time the next fall. Kids in private school, lots of Americans, even plays basketball Wed nights with a bunch of guys (x-NCAA player organizes it). |

Ecchi,
Living past 75 is a concern for me as well. Always thought I would take my pension in a lump sum but believe I will take the lifetime payments this way I don't piss it away or invest poorly, plus my wife will get half the payment when I do die. Can't touch this till 65 because I left the company early but my other retirement account can easily help me reach that age. Ramster, A couple of years back I researched a bunch of those places as well. Don't think I can get my wife that far away from the grandson. Cali is nice weather wise but LA has become quite dirty unless you live in the pricier areas and the dirtiness drives me mad. As it is I think Greenie's place and mine is about the same price thou I believe I can fit my whole house in his master bedroom, that is frustrating as well. Not that I want to clean his big house or take care of that acreage, lol. |
