Duplicate content?
Hey
If I got a site with this sentence: there was 3 flowers in the 4 baskets while holding 1 flower and another site with this sentence there was 10 flowers in the 8 baskets while holding 10 flower Does that qualify as dublicate content then? How much of a sentence have to be replashed in order NOT to be dublicate? Thanks |

Google's algorithms are much smarter than that.
In fact they're smart enough not to be fooled by any morphing software I've ever seen either. All that morphing content does is make your text much less likely to convince anyone to sign for any membership or even to bookmark or return to your site. Duplicate content penalties are a myth anyway. In fact, to quote Google: "There's no such thing as a "duplicate content penalty. Unless it appears that the intent of the duplicate content is to be deceptive and manipulate search engine results." If you're trying to fool Google you can count on being caught anyway. (Did I mention that the Google algorithms are smart?) Look at how many sites get ranked well for publishing the identical news stories straight from syndicated feeds by Reuters or the Associated Press. Just make sure to add value and you'll be fine.

You need to change language to avoid duplicacy.
For instance in this example a sentence like there was 10 flowers in the 8 baskets while holding 10 flower can be said as 8 Baskets had 10 flowers while having 10 flower already. |

Duplicate content is probably the biggest myth ever created by seo rainmakers. Feeds and/or gallery submissions (and other types of submissions) you've probably gotten sign ups never would have been indexed or really have any use whatsoever if it were a legit concern.
That being said (and what I think is being alluded to), you still should be reworking content for focus on making sales and or your keyword search targets. I have never been penalized for duplicate content (or any other myths created by seo rainmakers). Of course more relevant sites with fresher content have pushed mine back until I work mine back into position again. Last edited by Charlie; 2011-03-29 at 07:53 AM.. |

if you will write your posts like a non native english, and make a few spelling mistakes with purpose, as well use a couple of synonyms you should not have problems form my point of view

What Google looks for, first and foremost is "quality, original content". Just give that. The only place I've seen legitimate duplicate content hurt is in the page title and page descriptions, aside from that, a little duplication is fine. Use common sense.
