Is it really worth making description, keyword etc. meta tags in your header anymore? havent search engines stopped using those ages ago? Xallow |

The description is used by google to control what is displayed when your page comes up in the search results which is often times much better than the 70 characters or so they seem to pull out of the middle of your page. I don't believe it has any influence on ranking.

For all the time it takes to include them you may as well as it may improve your rank on some smaller search engines which could get you an extra couple of hits, and if those extra couple end up buying something...

Using meta tags such as keywords, description and title tags still plays a large roll in search engine and to traffic as well because everytime search engine display your page to SERP it display your description and title it is important that viewers may see a preview of what your site has to offer. And meta tag still plays a role in your keyword density and prominence it is still use to balance your keyword in a certain page.
