Question Link to Google?

On many sites I see a link to Google, what is it for? Does it actually help or just another common misconception like meta name="GooglePray" ?

On freesites many people just use it as an exit link to a non exclusively adult site.

Others use it in hopes that google and se's may look favorably upon it. Your judged by who links to you and who you link to, so if you link to quality and trusted sites it shows that your trying to give surfers quality content and links. At least i believe thats the theory.

I think google just needs the traffic
One thing I did notice on one mainstream site though is that I added adsense and that site is getting spidered more often. I don't have many mainstream sites but I'm going to try it on the ones that are updated and see what happens.

I have read that you can get indexed in google by simply placing adsense on your mainstream pages. No incoming links required. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I suspect it is.

IMHO the exit link to Google doesn't do anything for you. If you're going to use an exit link on your freesites, might as well try to make money on it.

Is it better to link to Yahoo or MSN instead?

some of your links must be linked on trusted sources . it's better for seo!

I generally use a link to a "kinda mainstream site for my exit links. It doesn't get a whole lot of traffic(the surfers are coming from a porn site looking for porn after all). I just figure I may as well use the extra link available on my warning page to maybe make a few extra bucks.
