So I got some new Yahoo traffic

SE traffic is always nice and I can probably multiply this 1000 times over.

So I am getting like #3-4-5 placings on searches with 1-2 million pages found, with links directly to sponsor tour pages.

I am a little confused because if I look at "similar pages" my links are #1 of 3-4000 links.

Just trying to understand before I throw up a bunch more pages and possibly screw things up.

I personally think it's all voodoo and other than building good clean sites there is nothing you can do. My MSN traffic has doubled so far this week over my total from last, yahoo and google are about the same.

The neat thing about Yahoo - those top positions in the real web search results (not the sponsored results at the top and bottom) can be bought - if you click the link at the top right of the page of results that says - "about this page" - and read the third paragraph that talks about CAP - a neat little program that Yahoo has that most people dont know about

I have several domains but yahoo only wants to index the index page on a couple of them - no idea why.

They show show plenty of backlinks in yahoo

Guess the weirdest thing about it was that it indexed my sponsor links above everybody else.

Something like that is really just the luck of the draw - someone was going to "win the lottery" and get their sponsor link indexed at the top, in this case it turned out to be you.

There are a few gimmicks you can try to get listings like that, but it still boils down to luck.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Usually it's because the affilate has a shit load of those links on their pages.

Example a gallery maker can easily have more affilate links pointing to the site then the actual hard links.

-This is just speculation

If those pages are well widely linked why not. That's why I always host those kind of pages, just in case I might want to change the sponsor on it.
