server down - will i lose my listings

My server is down at phatserver
how long can it be down before I start losing listings from the link lists
for having dead links

it mostly depends on if the lists are running their linkbots/checkers or not and how long your sites are down for, hopefully since it is a Friday night everybody is out doing other stuff and not running their link bots

Well I run my link bot in cron once per day, but I allow 3 server down errors before my link bot deletes the link so about 3 days.

My server went down the other day, because my friend who I'm trying to teach solaris to delted the sym link from /bin to /usr/bin and I was getting all these wierd error messages and didn't even notice why... so we bounced the box and of course it didn't come up. I had to drive to the office and fix the system took about 1 hour to drive to the office and fix the issue.... good thing I ONLY host my adult sites on this box none of my other customers... so... but I didn't see any issues with link sites..

When I'm having a server issue that I expect will be longer than a few minutes, I generally post the domains which are on that box, as well as fire off a few emails. Only one (tgp) guy was not understanding about it, evidently his server had never gone down. Oh wait, that's right, he quit the business a few weeks later.
