Censorship Throughout History / FSC

Hi! OK, here's the deal... I'm trying to follow up on a deal that I semi committed to some months ago. As a contribution to broadening out the FSC website, I proposed with the idea of a "censorship page" designed for "conumers" political education. Now I'm trying to do it. Final decision on its use will occur after I actually lay it out. I'm looking to do about two or three pages of content.

Content links and editorial are designed to provide surfers with information, historical context, events throughout history that are related to government (all and any governments) acts of censorship and their repercussions.

If you have or find interesting links to this subject would you help me do my research proper and post them here

Search for: legalization of porn movies in California

Those three topics alone will give you much information regarding censorship, attempted controls, and what laws / rules work and don't work. It will also give you a good idea of the various ways that government have tried to control / ban / block porn in the past in the real world and online.

You might also want to consider looking at zoning laws, such as those in NY that pretty much pushed all the porn stores out of times square.

Thanks, those are some obvious items I hadn't thought about. However, I'm also looking for people to post non porn related censorship tidbits. Hitler, WWII, the church and science, book burning, stuff like that. I'm thinking that I want to broaden this so its appetizing to a wider audience and show how things get out of hand. Porn is the lowest hanging fruit and I'm trying to connect it that when you go after one thing it is ineveitably used to go after others. Sound idea? Still kicking it around.

I know this one must be obvious too, but there are over 7 million results for "censorship throughout history" at Google. Some of the results look promising.
