Is Huckabee running for vice president?
He announced again yesterday that he was in it to the end. You have to ask, why? He has no chance of getting the nomination and now that Romney is out, he can't even steal his votes.
Didn't Edwards do the same thing 4 years ago? |

You forget the "God" factor that Huckabee lives by. Imagine if a candidate got up in front of everyone and said Vietnam never existed or that we've never walked in space (tho there is a theory about the moon landing). Yet he insists that nothing happened further than 5K years ago. No Ice Age. No dinosaurs. and STILL people are stupid enough to vote for him.

There is quite a divide between social religious oriented neocon type conservatives and more traditional fiscal socially libertarian conservatives. It's sometimes humerous hearing them argue about who the real conservatives are. I think bottom line the social conservatives are very loud minority particulalrly strong in the South and Huckabee is their man...that's what keeps him going.
I might be a good political move for them to come together to solidify the base, but I don't see it happening. Huckabee will scare off more undecideds than he will attract, and undecideds are what elections turn on. Last edited by LD; 2008-02-10 at 10:53 AM.. |

Have you been hearing his responses to the fact that he can't win enough delegates to lead.
He didn't major in math, he majored in miracles |

He can continue to collect campaign money and when he finally does drop he gets to keep all the money. Yes, he has to use the money to support the GOP but he can easily trade the money for favors that will then put new money in his pocket.
Of course he's pushing for the VP position. Why not at this point? |

Huckabee is hoping to have some influence on the Republican Convention Platform. The real test for McCain will be his choice for running mate. If he chooses Huckabee, I think the Democrats will have a strong chance of winning in November. If McCain shows any independence and strong will, he will choose his best friend, Sen. Joe Lieberman. If Obama is the Democratic candidate, I think McCain will be under pressure to choose a running mate who could pull in votes from the South, thus Huckabee. If Hillary is the candidate, she will not win the South and McCain could choose anyone he wants. The Republican convention is after the Democratic convention. Huckabee could be the driving wedge for independents and undecideds to vote for the Dems.

You can't keep blaming yourself. Just blame yourself once, and move on

The only one dumber than Huckabee is Chuck Norris for endorsing him. Too many kicks to the head I suppose!

Hey if huckabee will shut down the IRS and go to a flat tax based on consumption, he'll get my vote...I'm tired of the IRS...other than that, he's just as full of shit and as worthless as hillary/bill and obama...

I would not be happy with Huckabee as VP.
I'd prefer that one bullet (heart attack, stroke, you pick it) isn't all that keeps us from being governed by a man who believes the Earth is only 6,000 years old. .
