bookmarking sites with the google toolbar
I noticed if you bookmark a site with the google toolbar it makes a page on their server with all your bookmarks
I know the page isnt really there its script drivin but does any one think this could help with spidering of new sites or maybe even help with sites that have fallen out of favor with google ???

Google hates them because I had lesbian twin sites on them that had that word that begins with "i" and ends in "t" on them. So what if the sisters were in their thirties and consenting adults, 2 domains toasted

I cant think of any word that google would not list based on some results Ive seen unless it has cigarette or tobacco in it
shoot me a PM with the urls and we'll see if we cant get those back up for you Sheepguy Tommy - there is a very high liklihood that they are watching that bookmarking - with the new local search and their recent changes to their algorithm to push "my community" results and local search I think that is one of the ways they are counting metrics |

I haven't read the TOS - and I imported my bookmarks just to see what would happen - but couldn't spidering them be an invasion of privacy of sorts? |

Toolbar Features that give you access to other Google services such as Blogger and Gmail are subject to the separate Privacy Policies of those products. Features that require use of a Google Account, like Bookmarks, store information with your Account as explained in the main Google Privacy Policy. Other features, like SMS This, that let you transmit data from the Toolbar may log that data transmission, as explained in the FAQ.

Basically they say that if you sign up for an account with them to use bookmarks - you have given them wide open access to everything you do

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

I read something where some guy suggested creating context for vague searches (e.g. "architecture") using browsing behavior and bookmarks, both of which Google can track using the toolbar. If you bookmarked newegg, Google might return alot of computer-related results when you query "architecture"; or if you were surfing around egypt.com Google might instead return results about buildings.
Anyway, Google is moving toward personalization where everybody sees different results.
