our local lake doesn't allow internal combusion engines which eliminates gas, alcohol and diesel engines.

An old Yamaha Exciter 135 hull with waterpump, 300 pounds of batteries where the gasoline used to be, and an electric motor would give enough RPMs to get the boat to 45 with 5 passengers. I figured a two hour duty cycle per recharge. However, at idle, the boat wouldn't be using power.

Conversely, I figured, a propane powered steam engined day boat would be cool. Not nearly the speed demon that the electric jet would have done, but, probably 12mph with 8-10 people, a nice gantry for folks to disembark at picnic destinations, and, able to handle rougher waters.

Then, there's always the j-boat or hobie cat. I saw a j-boat on the lake one day and thought, now there's a guy that knows how to have fun. A j-boat with a rigid sail would be pretty slick and sized about right for this lake. However, I lack the decorations on the lake that Chop has.

Can you make a Useless Rigid Sail for a j-boat?

Could it be a new business for you? Useless Sails.... has sort of a catchy ring to it.

A window on one of the canvas doors for my jeep is coming unstitched. Your post reminded me I need to stop at a local sailmaker's and get a big needle and some heavy thread.

I remember when I made my first sale. It was for an AVS Platinum site featuring Briana Banks.

Now I'm picturing her in a row boat. Her long legs way up in the air with silk panties stretched between them and the wind blowing us across the lake.

I haven't even started drinking yet.

My sails all have a unique patent-pending design which prevents wind damage. One day, while sitting at a traffic light in town, I noticed that the banner hanging across the street (announcing some sort of fair) had rows of curved slits through it, which allow the wind to pass through the banner rather than forcing the banner and its restraints to fight the forces of nature.

My new sails have those genius pass-thru slits, so they really are useless sails.

Maybe I can use that on my Shrimp boat . . . .Shrimp is the fruit of the sea ya know. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sautee it. There's, um, shrimp kebabs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir fried. There's pineapple shrimp and lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich...
