Rock stars ... is there anything they don't know?

Need advice
I was recently told by GreenGuy to make a "clean" free tour without all the "traffic leaks". On my main free tour I have links and I also have a page of banners from other banner exchanges Ive done. My question is how do I have a successfull site without all the traffic leaks and keep traffic coming to my site? I guess the links and banners are traffic leaks and I never really thought of it that way. I just knew it was a way to get my website out there to build up my traffic. The only other ways I know how to advertise my site is banner/link exchanges, free site, galleries. Is there a way to have my site without all the traffic leaks? I am willing to take down the links but I dont know if I do that if I will have any traffic going to my site unless im missing something. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated thanks

I think you should have worked in a program long enough to learn the ropes first, then ventured into your own site in addition to your other job.
There is a helluva lot to learn to have a successful program and coming from knowing nothing is, unfortunately, not to your advantage. |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

I think what he was really trying to say was to move all the links and trades inside to another page... for example they could be on the LAST page of your free tour or even on a "recommended links" or "friends" page that a user has to click on to see. The point I think he was trying to make is that you want to keep the surfer's attention on YOU and YOUR site and show them what YOU have to offer first. After you've worked your magic if they still don't want to buy then give them a chance to skip off somewhere else.... not before they even get a chance to make it to your the "join" page.

Leave all of your banners, reciprical links, etc. in place on your main tour, the one peeps see that come in through your default index. You'll continue to build your own traffic for this tour, and send affiliate traffic to your leak free tour.
There are many ways to build traffic, but they take time to learn and develop. The only quick solutions are expensive, or illegal. |

Thanks everyone for your advice. And yes Surfn I agree with you. I jumped into the online adult business back in 2001. Ive been doing this "online adult" business for 5 years and I do not have a "regular job" I make good money (cam/phone/website) but I want to be successfull ONLY with my site and affiliate programs. Id like to eventually stop doing all my other things like cam/phone ect. I have to admit its addicting playing on cam LOL but I dont want to be 40 and on cam you know? LOL

tonya - don't do anything to your existing business model, because it's working. All you want to do is add more options (like the leak free tour) to entice a different group of webmasters to promote the program.
There are many sites that have multiple tours (and not just amateur sites) Let's say that you have 1000 hits a day coming into the current tour. By making a different tour, you might be able to pick up another 1000 hits to the new tour while keeping the existing 1000 at the old tour. Just give the affiliates the option of choosing which tour they want to send traffic to |

Wheither you think you can or you think you can't, Your right.

Think what Greenguy is saying is to make a new page(s), hence new tour(s). As said many paysites have many different tours, or many different pages. Since they are different pages, they can be super clean and/or comletely different from each other.
Another thing, if you want to attact more webmasters to your affiliate program, you should have a page or two explaining the program, right now it just goes to the epoch sign-up page, telling them nothing about your site and how the affiliate program works, where your ad materials are, ect. Also, in your sig, you say "My Affiliate Website SexyLiveFriends.com" , where is it? I just see a site of sponsor links and some galleries. There are many links on your tour, like the welcome.htm page, many links that the webmaster would not get credit if a surfer signed up, like the imlive banner/links, or the ifriends links, keen, ect. Webmasters send surfers to your site and get no credit if sales are made on those links, not real fair. The site your affiliates send traffic to should only have links to join your site. ronnie Last edited by ronnie; 2006-02-25 at 11:06 AM.. |

Yup your right GG its working for me which im surprised because many told me my site wouldnt do well with all the traffic leaks but its doing well but Im sure if i offered other tour options it could be doing alot more better. Ronnie thanks for your advice Ill definately get a page made explaining my program and more detailed info this weekend.
Oh and my site sexylivefriends.com is not my affiliate site i mean shoot I dont know what i mean. Its just a site with links, pics, galleries that I can get credit for and make more money besides my personal website, phone, cam ect.. So what is my sexylivefriends.com website called maybe im using the wrong term for it. Im venturing into that idea and also getting my personal site straightened out. |
