You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

Thanks for the info. I will have my programmer get in touch with you. If it is hackable, don't you think this info not ought to be posted on the boards?

Mishi, since you seem to be very aware of how and why, can you explain me please what is the difference of sending a PM and posting on the board in that particular case?

Arghhhh...submit yer sites ya ruddy swabs!
|
Well, I'm not Mishi nor do I play Mishi on TV...but...
I think what Mishi and Jay were referring to was perhaps it would have been best if info of this nature was kept off a 'public' message board. Hence, Mishi's suggestion that a 'private' message would have been more appropriate. I know if someone noticed a hole in my defenses, I would greatly appreciate them letting me know privately...hell, I'd shake their hand and if they were female...I might even give em a big ol smooch Posting that my servers are suceptible to hacks on a public message board would tend to take a bit of the shine off my level of appreciation though The reasons are obvious |

LOL! tjchuck, do you thing what I said there would really matter to anybody that has the knowlege to abuse it? Would it matter if I say that there's vulnerability on Microsoft' site that can eventually expose the whole database? What you said is lame. The problem about letting somebody know publicly that his site is hackable is other and please dont let me get into this. And just FYI I did send a message to Jay before posting here. The difference is that Jay got a lot more messages from other people that he knows in person, such as Cleo, GG, etc that would alert him. Also, can somebody else besides Jay, MML, GG and Jim tell me for sure if Jay is accepting PMs?
Again, tjchuck's rely was as meaningless as Mishi's... please mind your own business and do post crap when you have time for wasting...

You should have just inserted all of your sites in the top spots and kept your mouth shut. You would have received less abuse.

You will have to forgive me, as I am realatively new to this industry, but how does one know when a database is hackable?
And why would one want to know if someone elses database is hackable? |

If you need to check your system address the companies that can help you secure it. There isn't a common rule for hacking With other words I cant tell you...
Google says: Secure your database

Wheither you think you can or you think you can't, Your right.
|
I agree it should have been kept in private. Sure there's more then one hacker that might read this board. Just gives them some thing to do and who to do it to.

I've always wondered if there was a god. And now I know there is -- and it's me
|
I'm sure he meant no harm by his post at all. IN fact he was trying to be helping in letting jay know as soon as possible. This way like he said was the sure way to get jays attention because im sure jay gets tons of private message and emails and he doesnt always read each one as he gets it. He may be back logged for all we know.
As for hackers reading the board and going after jays. If they werent doing it before they wont be doing it now. No one should get blamed for trying to help so ease up and just let him get the problem solved quickly with jay like it should be. |

I never suggested ClickBuster's intentions were anything but honorable. However, I maintain that potentially damaging information about a site should be kept private. For that matter, ANY information about a site - if it isn't a matter of public record - should be kept private.
