Knocking my head againt a cement wall at the moment...

Sometimes this shit really sucks moose balls..
I was having a problem uploading banners to phpadsnew, for some reason unbeknownst to me, it stopped playing nice on the server. ok..so I upgraded to the newest version like the guruknowitalls on their website said, and voila!! All my banners disappeared..poof..gonzo..
Oh, I see all the campaigns and zones and other crap..but the ads themselves are nowhere to be found when you click on em, put codes on html or shtml to call em..and they are all in the database when you look at it in phpmyadmin..
Thank god I dumped the database before I started yukking with it..but no one has an answer for me as to why my ads just went on a holiday..
JMJ!!

PAN often leaves me banging my head into that proverbial brick wall...I feel your pain.

Have you gone into...um...let me check...try going into Inventory...Zone Overview...and check under Probability for your various zones...sometimes you'll find that for some reason, no banners are linked to your zones.

If I have completely misunderstood your problem, please forgive, and give me more details; I don't know much about the program, but I've muddled through a few issues myself, and might be able to help.

PAN's a great program for the price...but you also get the support you pay for, and it can be a ROYAL PITA.

(I do know how to totally speed up adding multiple banners via the "duplicate banner" link, if anyone's interested.)

Thank you guys for the help
I got Spritz, or Spitz or whatever his name is to look at my stuff up and down (he's one of the big dudes on the phpadsnew website)
He's a nice guy..said it might possibly be because my mysql is v 4 and the libraries are 3.22 so he asked that my hoste recompile my stuff to match and maybethat will solve it. He said something somewhere went wrong with the upgrade. As this was a different one thatn the one I use for my ll and other stuff, my ass is not so much in a sling..but frustrating cause all my work right now is on hold cause of this. My other one needs to be upgraded so I thought I'd be able to make a fresh new one and use this one upgrading a copy of the database too..so I could eliminate the old one that doesnt work right and just use this one..We shall see what happens

we have 26 toplist's using phpadnews to rotate all the banners, the same problem was happening to us, we "fixed" it by deleting the log files once a month. works fine now.

Exactly, why fix it when it isn't broke.

I am not one for getting every upgrade.

I totally agree..The only reason I upgraded was that I could not upload banners to the sql database. Something broke when they upgraded my server. I know local banner serving is faster but what's the point of having a sql banner rotator if you have to keep the banners on the server?
But interestingly enough each time I restore the database and reinstall the old program, it works fine. So that's why the dudes at phpadsnew are helping me so they will be able to help someone else if they encounter the same issues.
they are looking at servercharseys and other assorted server compile issues today. NatNet has been great thru this.

Update:
Nothing worked and the upgrade did not do a complete job on my database so I plan on deleting all the banners in the new install, leave the old one as is (cause it's on godknowhowmanyfuckingsites) and start from scratch.

Maybe it would be better to go back to an older, more stable version? Or maybe you already did that. Though I have a much oder version, I have always stored my banners locally, they are set-up through a url.

Or maybe it's your mysql db/server? You might have already checked into that, just thinking out loud.

Maybe it is your browser. Have you tried another browser or even better a different computer?

Semi-hijack in progress...

On the topic of phpads new, is there a way to make it stuff those damned maintenance.php logs in a speicfic directory? Right now they're stacking up at the root and they're pretty annoying. Also, how long do you folks keep your logs?

I have over 1,000 maintenance.php's to spare if you'd like some. I don't even know if they are of any use.

And by the way, you can delete the ones that show up as maintenance.php.0, .1, .2, .3

wget will not overwrite the file that it has downloaded -- if you look at the contents of the file, they will show you the results of running maintenance.php. wget is just grabbing the file maintenance.php and writing its output to the current directory.

Well, I tried it on mozilla and it does the same thing but not as frequently. I dont get it the older version worked wonderfully and when the script dude got to a point he probably could nothelp, I never heard from him again.
So next step is to trash the upgraded database and try with a total new fresh one and add some ads and see what happens
