Buying content helps getting listed?

Hi all!
I'm new to this board and new to making free sites.

From what I read in the boards it seems nearly impossible to get listed using just free content from sponsors since it will always be "seen before".

I want to know if buying content from a content provider will help me get listed in big LLs assuming rules are followed and site design is decent.

Any webmasters do that? Do sponsors have a problem being promoted with content not from their website?

That should work for most LL's. I can only think of a couple content providers who's content is over used.

Are all content providers OK if we use their content in free sites?

Do you understand the difference between "sponsor content" and "content providers"?

Sure, sponsor content is provided by paysites so that we can promote them. A sample of their member area content.

Content providers sell content to paysites (and freesite webmasters?)

Yes, buy or better yet make your own content. The sponsor content is way too over used to get you any good listings.

Good Luck!

Make your own? Yeah, sure.

Not all sponsor content is overused and most link lists don't give a better listing (whatever the fuck that is) just because you use a set of content they haven't seen. The fact is, most of the content providers that free site builders use, due to their affordability, sell shit - and it's shit that doesn't accurately represent the paysite being promoted.

My advice is to thoroughly sift through your sponsor's content. Then surf a couple of the big lists and see if you easily find the the sets of content you'd like to use.

I used to buy a shitload of content, so much that I won't really need to buy anymore for quite a few years. Some of my stuff is so old that it's new, but I still see that it's for sale.
But I still buy some new stuff, mostly freaky niches, mostly because I don't like depending on one single sponsor. I'd rather depend on several sponsors, mixed with my AVS's, cams, etc. When you have your own content you can be choosy with sponsors, promote your own stuff, do things your way for the most part.
And it's a lot cheaper than it used to be.
That said, if I was starting fresh in the biz I'd be using all free sponsor content, if the only thing I was doing was freesites. Why not?
But if I was starting fresh in the biz I wouldn't narrow my focus to just freesites.

I would go with what Useless warrior says. My question to you is this. What type of content are you promoting? Let us know. Hell, I might be able to help. the key here is marketing and content when you want to be listed higher in search engines and getting traffic. If you need help, I don't mind lending a hand. I know,.. I've been there, man.

All I use is sponsor provided content and get listed everywhere I submit. I can recall two sites in the last year that were rejected because the content had already been listed. There are several sponsors that put up new content weekly, just grab it and go before everyone else does.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I will try with fresh sponsor content and good web design and not spend money on buying content. It seems like it works for some so why not for me too...

No they generally do not have a problem with that. They just want you to send the hits. Now if you use their content to promote another sponsor, then they usually do have a problem with that.

Yes on that. I get listed with sponsor content all the time. It's hard enough making sales with freesites and making them worthwhile considering the time I put into each one (which is several hours per FS sometimes). Spending more on content is just crazy at this point Find the right sponsors, the ones that are not over promoted and that provide you with top-quality content, often non watermarked. There is a HUGE amount of free promo content offered by sponsors these days. And if you need more and have been doing this for a while, you shouldn't have a problem getting more content from your sponsors too.

If you do go with content providers, watch out. Most of the cheap content is not only already overused but you can find it provided for free by some sponsors too!

The only reason to use your own bought content is so that you can pick and choose, and maybe switch sponsor, for the freesite down the road. Honestly, I just prefer to make a new FS then to go back and "update" old freesites, especially after they have been reviewed and accepted.
