Changes to recip linking for link list submissions
Changes to recip linking for link list submissions
This is just an idea I've been thinking about for a very long time. Tell me what you think. Lately on the board there has been talk between link list webmasters about reciprocal linking for submissions and the subsequent implementation of changes to reciprocal linking procedures. The problem with current recip links is that they are insanely huge. There's is too much html info behind these recip text links. Search engines have to crawl through multiple layers of garbage table html info to get to text that is meaningful. Also, the latest news per the search engine community is that search engines are ignoring alt tags. Makes sense because it's a keyword stuffing tool. Here is what I think should be done with current reciprocal linking procedures by link list owners. I'll use my site as an example. I would submit a site say: http://www.xxxthrills.com/indian-savita/index.html to all the link lists without any reciprocal links or recip tables on this site (just ignore the recip table currently on my page). Instead, the link lists to which I have submitted would have a permanent text link on my main or 1st page at: http://www.xxxthrills.com say for example Porno Petes Links in the left hand side column. So all that webmasters would be submitting is 1 site without any doorway pages or duplication. Google does not like duplication of content theses day. In the end, the link list owner would appear permanently on an index page which in my case is the constantly most heavily visited page anyway, and it would help with everyone's search engine ranking. So every time I submit a site to another link site, the reciprocal link info or where my link can be found on submit forms would be the same: http://www.xxxthrills.com Or this type of arrangement can be done between link list owners by category. I have a site which is page rank 4: http://www.pornopeteslinks.com where this can be done between link list owners I think in the long run, this is the way to go. I would only accept a maximum of 20-25 link lists for index page listings. If anyone is interested in such an arrangement, please contact me. Peter

That'll never fly. The recips on free sites serve more reasons than just some attempt at amusing the SEs. In fact, I believe that many would argue that they don't serve that purpose well at all.

Some of my submitters have dozens or hundreds of sites listed. If I listed all those sites across all my categories in exchange for one return link on their root page, it would be the end of me.
Recips, when used as supplied, are a form of branding. Most LL owners don't mind the custom text only recip tables, especially since they're primarily used by experienced, good submitters who build quality sites. That said, I think it's fair to say most of us would like our recips to look the way we built them, all things considered. Recip link traffic makes up a small portion of my total traffic, but it's not insignificant. It's all clicked traffic that more often than not goes directly to a category. From there most of it goes to my submitters, which is exactly the way I like it. I'd rather have a surfer come in and go out the side door, since IMO this is the most targeted traffic. Yes, I like to see my backlink count go higher in the SEs, but that's not the main point of recips. It's a traffic exchange. Even though recips individually don't generate a bunch of traffic, the traffic they do bring in is valuable and highly targeted. If you link to me from your domain root and I link to your free site, how do I know you've got any traffic at all going to your root? At least I can see the other recips on your free site and know that there's some kind of other traffic coming to the page I'm listing and I have a chance of getting a surfer or two back. I also can't buy in to the theory that spiders have to "sift through a mountain" to find the links and that this somehow has a negative effect. My bot can crawl 4-8 sites a second looking for my recips and checking for cheats and errors if the sites are on fast servers, and I have to assume that the SE bots are at least that efficient. I can appreciate your concept in theory, but IMO it's just not practical. |
