Pandora Radio?

Anybody played with http://www.pandora.com Pandora Radio?

I know a couple friends that use it and started playing with it today. Damn shit is pretty cool. Type in an artist and it will play related artist and such. Can set up a shuffle to go through different artist stations and such. Not sure why there isn't more buzz about it. Pretty damn cool and totally free.

I dig pandora. I also have the app for my iPhone as well which works great.

Preacher 2009-04-29 06:57 PM

Yeah, I think for a couple years now...or at least 1+. |thumb

As soon as my local radio's morning show is over I switch to Pandora for the rest of the day. It for some reason streams better than my local MP3 server does over the wireless, so I never turn that server on any more. |loony|

When my wife uses my computer, she adds her stations, so I can't tell you what's on mine or I would look extremely lame.

Surrrrrrrre it's your wife's stations ;)

teenrave, yes Pandora just like Hulu and TV shows on Fox, CBS and the others are only allowed for viewing/listening in the US. Outside the US you get the message something like You are outside the allowable viewing area. Only residents of the United States blah blah blah

SheepGuy 2009-04-29 08:10 PM

Yep. Canadians can't listen to Pandora, so we make our own music.
Tunes like This ;)

My partner uses Pandora on her iPhone all the time but I haven't personally used it.

http://www.pandora.com/restricted

Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

Too bad.

Jamdin 2009-04-29 11:24 PM

I have been listening to Pandora Box for the past two years or so.

NY Jester 2009-04-30 12:57 AM

I have chatted with a couple of the people over there and its a very cool thing. I like it.

I love Pandora and have been using it for a while. Now if only they'd release an app for my BlackBerry Storm, I could rock it while away from the computer. |headbang|

Has anyone outside the USA tried connecting to Pandora, Hulu and the rest using a USA-based proxy server?
