Your kind of "life" we do not need. You ask for help, we give it then you turn around and employ some of the lowest tricks we have seen in a long while. That isn't help - that is backstabbing. Changing sites to break stated rules AFTER submitted and accepted isn't appreciated anywhere, anytime, by anybody. You have managed to last 10 years without much help from this particular community - I suggest you return to your former methods.

As to this board being what we make it, that is very true. We are always glad to help teach webmasters to do things ethically. We don't condone cheating, stealing, circle jerks or any other slimy tactics. This board is far from dull. It lacks the drama and flames of some of the others, but we prefer it that way. Maybe you should take your smelly bag of tricks and head back over there. Obviously, your earlier requests for help and input were lies, too.

Just in case anyone thinks we are ganging up on a poor old woman for no reason, and to put a more positive spin on this thread, let's look at her history as a classic lesson in how NOT to be accepted and linked.

Old hand, first timer, wanna be - it doesn't really matter. When you come in here and ask for help you get it (especially when you can form your question so that all can figure out what you are asking). I have seen so many get honest help and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism on their sites, as well as being granted trusted submitter status. Most respect the gift of knowledge and the networking and become solid, contributing members of this community.

Others, though, are simply here to either stir the shit, or leech. We all make mistakes, yes, but we generally correct them after they are pointed out, thank the messenger and go on with it. I do not know where you are, who taught you manners, or where you learned to build sites, but, you broke a cardinal rule Dollpix, and then copped a snotty, sarcastic attitude.

Those rules are there for a reason, and if you choose to break them (or allow/direct your underlings), there is a penalty. To have an account with Cleo is priceless and given to only a few webmasters. You stole her trust when you added counters to your sites after you submitted them. Even if every site on your recip table allows it, at least one does not and you need to respect those terms. You also used link list names in your meta tags - another huge no-no.

Newbies -- take note of this. Had it been with just one site, it might have been forgiven depending on who caught it. But, when you go behind a link list owner's back and degrade your site, you can expect to be treated this way. People are angry because she screwed them over. Treat the link lists the way you want to be treated, and you will be rewarded. If you want to do something on a site, ASK first, or post here in a thread. Don't just do it, especially if it is clearly in violation of ANY site's rules.

Dollpix, I am really sorry to see things end this way for you. You had a very golden opportunity given to you and you trampled it. I seriously doubt you will have any quality link list accepting you now or anytime soon. Thanks for the laughs, and we do sincerely wish you all the best -- elsewhere.

The thing that gets my goat is the return trips to stir the pot FOR HERSELF! Maybe she gets off on it, maybe shes bating to the harsh words shes reading....maybe just maybe shes a complete and utter moron and doesn't know any better hahaha..but not likely. Dollpix lost me when she 'disagreed' with my statement regarding social sites. I said there weren't any around 10-15 years ago to which she snottily replied I was wrong and went on to explain how she met her husband on one and blah blah blah... But ummmm.... I was talking about sites like myspace and no, the masses were not on 'user groups' and teenagers weren't posting questionable photos and video of themselves ten years ago. Apples and oranges my dear....

Yeah- there were user groups on my college 'Gopher' system but not only could I not post photos of myself, I also couldn't stream video- Oh yeah, and I had to go to the computer lab to use it- anyone else have to use the University of Minnesota Gopher system? I miss it- I'd like to make my blog look like that;)))
