Happy Easter and Good Morning
I changed the thread title Twiceshy...sorry :)

Nothing much happening today. No children, no sisters and no grandchildren :)

Cleo 2008-03-23 07:59 AM

Is it time to go back to bed yet?

Looking to be another rainy day so going to be looking for indoor type stuff to do today. Probably going to hit the gym and then spend the rest of it working.

It has been pretty much just pain nasty weather since Friday night's drumming but it was nice for that event so I guess I shouldn't complain. Here is a quick short vid it.

Good early morning. Happy Easter.

As Greenguy did Friday night I saw my team lose to the Leafs last night. The refereeing was TERRIBLE but our giveaways cost us moreso.

Good morning world |waves|

Wishing everyone a religiously faithful day of nibbling on chocolate bunny ears and watching old epic movies.

Eastertime always makes me remember this little gem from Emo Phillips:

...the school psychologist...gives me a chocolate Easter bunny. And this shows how tricky those guys are. I eat the chocolate and I think, wait a second... this isn't around Easter. "Was this a test?" He said, "Yes." "And what does it mean?" He said, "Well, had you eaten the ears first you would have been normal; had you eaten the feet first you would have had an inferiority complex; had you eaten the tail first you would have had latent homosexual tendencies; and had you eaten the breasts first you would have had a latent oedipal complex." I said, "Well, go on. What does it mean when you bite out the eyes and scream, 'Stop staring at me!'?'"

Good morning and happy easter all:) its 3:37 midday here and we are just home from visiting the inlaws.
I woke up this morning with a white view outside, we had snow last night, this is my first white easter:D hell we should get snow with christmas...but no we get it with easter in springtime, i realy have to email mother nature about this, i just readed on the news that this is the coldest easter in 40 years.
We had a great easter breakfast this morning at 9 and we will have a greater diner in some hours, so no working today but only fam things (have to keep the kids busy).
I wish you all a great day and eve!:)

RedCherry 2008-03-23 10:42 AM

Happy Easter Everyone. Still trying to wake up, lol.

Simon, that was funny. I haven't had a chocolate bunny in many years, does that mean I'm repressed? lol

Working on another AVS site design, plus doing more work on the greenhouse today. Got all the pipe cut for the water, but forgot to buy primer for the glue and by the time we got back with it, we were out of steam. So today the water should be installed for sure...unless we need parts and Star Nursery is closed. :D Hope to get the electric in too.

I transplanted a bunch of my tomato plants yesterday, they are very happy to be out of the tiny 1" pots. Now I only have about 150 more various plants to transplant. They are all lined up on my back porch, waiting for us to install the cooler so they don't melt in the greenhouse, lol.

Talked to our mail lady yesterday, and her parents planted champagne grapes that in 2 years created an edible arbor on their porch, so thinking to do the same. We have lattice on our back porch that would make perfect climbing areas for them. So many projects, so little time.

Yell 2008-03-23 10:48 AM

Happy Easter 2 all.... :D

|yawn| Morning.. it will take me 2 days to recover from all the traveling this week.. of course we only did day trips but i'm exhausted.

Went to Rhyolite (an abandoned silver boomtown that is supposedly haunted and then drove up to Furnace Creek in Death valley. Came home and fell into the bed for 12 hours. It's frigging HOT already there. but it was fun and some of the wildflowers are already in bloom. Here are the pics. The last 2 my son was doing saturation with for his graphics class but forgot to save the originals.

I have the wonderous Candi coming to clean today and set up my printer..yeah!! I think the RugDawg and I will go to the movies as we do every religious holiday and then have lunch somewhere i can get ham.

Have a good one.. and may you have huge easter baskets full of Money today.

Filthy Pagan. |waves|

I've explained Easter to my children with this little story. This is the day that the Easter Bunny, a half man, half rabbit who could lay dyed eggs and claimed to be the long lost son/pet of the Boogie Man, rose from the dead after being beat to death in the streets of Jerusalem with a large chocolate crucifix. He continues to haunt his worshipers to this day. Once a year, he borrows Santa's sleigh and drops off colorful wicker baskets filled with fake grass and little toys coated with lead-based paints, mixed in with an array of candies which the dog will eat because children are too dumb to put their junk out of his reach. Some people go to church on this day and pray to the Easter Bunny for high quality chocolates and new video games.

RedCherry 2008-03-23 12:43 PM

Nice pics. I can't believe we were in Death Valley the first of the month, and the flowers were not blooming like that! What a difference a few weeks make...plus the weather was in low 70s.

We have always wanted to go to Rhyolite, your pics make me want to go this fall.

LOL. Isn't it sad with the Christians have done to their own holiday? Because of the commercialization, that sounds about what kids must think it means. And this Filthy Pagan waves back at ya. |waves|

I'm heading over to my parents house today, so it will be a short workday for me. |waves|

Howdy!

papagmp 2008-03-23 05:42 PM

Called the kids in Germany and they were out in the yard searching for their easter baskets - in the snow. Snowed here last night too but will be melted off by mid-day tomorrow.

Sat up on the porch most of the night with my shotgun - but that fn queer egg-layin rabbit evaded me again.
