Well with the word FUCKERS on it I can understand them removing her. There are kids on planes. Cool shirt though. :D

MadMax 2005-10-07 09:46 AM

If it wasn't a big deal at the gate it shouldn't have been a big deal mid flight. We don't get to make ugly people wear bags on their heads, even if they're REALLY ugly.

ecchi 2005-10-07 01:18 PM

Ramster, it wasn't "fuckers" it was "Fockers". "Meet the Fockers" is the title of a recent film staring Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, and Barbra Streisand. I am surprised you have not heard of it, a few months ago you could not open a magazine or turn on the TV over here without seeing an advert for the focking film.

However over here we have a fashion label called French Connection UK. They print their initials on everything they sell (FCUK) and also sell teeshirts with expressions on them using FCUK instead of fuck (eg "I don't give a FCUK" and "FCUK you"). I have never heard of anyone being thrown off an aeroplane for wearing one.

ecchi - actually that shirt she was wearing did say fuckers which is the reason she was ejected - it was a parody of the fockers - but one of the news programs actually showed her wearing the shirt and it was this exact same shirt from cafepress

ecchi 2005-10-07 02:55 PM

Sorry, the news report I read said "fockers", I guess they got it wrong.

I believe CNN was trying to hint at it without saying it. They should have added "sounds like cocksuckers if you drop the cock".

Linkster 2005-10-07 06:14 PM

Yeah - when the story first broke either fox or msnbc had video of her - and as she moved so quickly around the airport their "blur" couldnt keep up with the front of the shirt LOL

Who the fuck kicks someone off at the layover? That's just ridiculous.

I bought a couple of these shirts for our dogs that wear clothes. Our local newspaper is having a dog calender that will take votes on dogs. The vote costs 10 cents each. I will give you guys the address and all you have to do is throw a dollar or even a Dime in and say I vote for Gaylord :)

Finally a relevant search result on google. I seen this posted on another board.

Go to google and type in the word 'failure' then click 'I'm feeling lucky'...... :D

ecchi 2005-10-13 02:54 PM

It does not have to be "I feel lucky" you can just hit "search" and see what the top result is.

This has been like that for a long time. When I first heard about it the suggested search was "miserable failure" which works with or without the quotes.

Just curious. Why didn't they just ask her to turn her shirt inside out or something? I'm not for censorship but that's certainly not a child-friendly shirt so I can see them not wanting her to wear it... but kicked off at a layover?? C'mon, turn the shirt inside out and move on!

ecchi 2005-10-13 07:40 PM

The article I read said that they had asked her to turn it inside out and she refused. However that article has already been seen to hold one inaccuracy, so don't rely on this.
