Hosted Free Sites?
 

There are thousand of sponsor hosted galleries. Do any sponsors offer hosted free sites?

I know the Extreme boys have lots of them. :)

There are sponsors that have free hosts, ARS for example, the only caveat is you have to use their link codes period. You can't send the surfers to any other sponsor from the site.

If you are asking for sponsors who host free sites that you just plug in to your own LL there are a bunch of them here |rasta|

anyone knows why are hosted sites are not as popular as hosted galleries?

A lot of sponsors have yet to realize there are very many of us with link lists & that we have a decent amount of traffic that actually converts :D

This is a sponsor with loads of Hosted Free Sites, all you do is chuck your ID into them, and you are away.

They seem to convert really well too as all the sites are only $1.00 joins and you get $30 and they have loads of bonus days too.

I want to give this a go. I will design up some free sites over the next couple of days, but I need your help!

-is it OK for the sites to be on the same domain?
-how many pics per site? (30?)
-how many pages per site and pics per page? (enter + 3 galleries?)
-do you want a fpa between the enter page and the galleries?
-do you want to see blind links?

anything else?

Once I get some responses I will do up an initial site and post it here for a critique. Once it is ready to go, I **expect** webmasters on this board to use them |bananna|

just go to the big LL's and check their requirements ( I believe someone here owns http://www.link-o-rama.com |rasta| ) also check out the other free sites on these LL's so you get an idea on how it should look like.

Yes

I think most link sites only require 20

Warning page leads to main page leads to gallery pages

Most of us to not allow FPA's

"-do you want to see blind links?"
Most of us do not allow blind links

I'd also stay away from:
Pics on html pages
Consoles & links opening in new windows

& keep them simple - no fancy graphics & whatnot - I think the more basic & text driven the free sites are, the better they sell :)

Greenguy, What about the use of a template?

Most of the sponsored hosted galleries use a template. They might have hundreds of galleries with the thumbs just plugged in.

If this concept of sponsored hosted free sites catchs on, will it be acceptable to the link list owners for a template to be used?

I have 17 done and working toward 30.

The links will take you to the site where we have crap we have been using to test. When the site is up, the new design will be there with that crappy pink gone.

Ive always wondered why hey offer free sites also. But wont the link lists get a bunch of sites that all look alike? They would take maybe the first 2 or 3 and then reject all the rest I would think.

Chop - those sites look fine to me - and as long as you have 30 templates, that's should be plenty to keep us link list owners happy :)

shelmal - the hosted free sites aren't made for webmasters to download & use themselves, they are put up there so that link lists owners can use them in with their regular listings :)

free hosted will kill your bookmarkers.

but are they a good or bad thing? i mean if everyones got the same pics and less free porn, the chances are that more people will wip out the credit card and start to buy.

Why do you think it would kill bookmarkers ?

I would think since the sites are fast, fairly well designed, and trustworthy (wont redirect) then it would be better for bookmarkers.

There would be no more saturation of content than there already is.

Bookmarkers wouldnt change - most LLs get the same sites submitted to them every day and list them, the only difference is who is getting paid on the banner clicks

The quality of the hosted free sites will actually be better than half the submits we get - and probably one heck of a lot better than the free sites we make ourselves that we've always had on our own LLs.

Just wish more sponsors would go this route - seems to be a win-win situation for everyone

Hosted Galleries haven't ruined TGP's so why would Hosted Free Sites ruin Link Lists?

(that is assuming in the next 3 years, sponsors actually pay attention to free sites like they do galleries - LOL)
