Paysite billing

Iīm thinking of an own paysite. I read about billing on this board some days ago. I do not want to go with nats for the beginning, because itīs too expensive to start with. I thought of using CCBill.

But there were some postings which made me think about it again, so here is my question: will using CCBill prevent you from promoting my site or donīt you really care about it?

I just opened http://www.allchubby.com and I've found that CCBill inspires a lot more trust from affiliates than other processors. I'd say if you don't want to invest in Nats, it's the next best thing.

Just the opposite. Using CCBill will never prevent anyone from wanting to promote your site, where as using NATS would. I'm seeing more and more rumblings within the community about a distrust for NATS. Affiliates don't like having a fourth-party software package controlling their stats and sales. If you use NATS, you'll most likely be signing up with CCBill for processing anyway. So why bother with paying yet another party for the reliable stats that CCBill is already giving you AND the affiliate?

there are benefits to having a program like NATS or MPA3+. increased sales through multiple processors immediately jumps to mind. I know CCBill is trusted and if you dont want or cant afford one of those huge affiliate/cascading/do just about everything scripts, then CCBill would be the way to go

Fine, so Iīll go with CCBill.

I have a bunch of Czech content and if my site goes online Iīll spam the board with my links:D

Maybe one or the other of you guys will promote it...

Besides the reputation the biggest advantage, in my opinion, to CCBill for single site programs is that affiliates can aggregate all their sales under one account and get one check. That means I can sign up for a single site program, make just a few sales a month, and still get my money each pay period rather than having to wait to meet the payout minimums for each individual program.

For that reason I don't think that the benefits of using NATS etc. really pays off until you have multiple sites in a program, or have a single site doing very high volume.

This is an advantage for sure. And, like UW said, I do not have to handle the billing. So affiliates donīt have to worry about their payouts.

frank, CCbill is great for starting out. Their staff is extremely helpful and available 24/7 for any questions. Believe me, I've called them at 3:00am with some of the dumbest shit, and they've been nothing but helpful and polite. If you host with them as well you get a little discount on the processing :)

Yes, I think itīs the best way to start. So Iīll get a designer building the site and start soon. At least if I could manage my trojan issues.:D

The other side of the coin is that some people don't like CCBill because of a perceived scrub problem. There's just been a rash of what's up with CCBill threads on boards, for example. In the end you just have to go with what makes the most money for you.

Their scrubbing reduces chargebacks. Reduced chargebacks means fewer chargeback fees and lessens the risk of getting canned by our friend, Visa. And again, almost any fool willing to pay for a third party cascading system is going to process thru CCBill anyway.

The point is that some affiliates have an equal distrust of CCBill as some have for NATS.
