I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr Who! 1st was good, 2nd was great, 3rd I have to rewatch, but I did like it.

I'd forgotten how much I love that Douglas Adams style of writing with what seems to be inconsequential foreshadowing.

Glad you like it because I know how picky you can be sometimes with sci fi. I totally brain farted and did not realize the 2nd and 3rd specials aired until yesterday |banghead| Hopefully watching tonight with the wife!

We watched specials 2&3 last night and they were really good. Far better than the disjointed 1st one, imo. At least we know the next one is the Xmas special.

So I searched Dr Who & found 13 seasons on HBO Max and I watched the 1st 3 episodes of Season 1...

I had to check the link to see where they started which is when it rebooted after a 16-year hiatus. This is when I started watching.

It does get better. I liked Rose but thought the Dr was OK. The only spoiler I'll give is that he's there for only one season. The Dr for season 2 is played by the actor from the current 3 specials you just watched. This is where IMO the shows got much better.

I just finished S2, where I got to see Donna for 1 episode. I thought she might pop back up at the beginning of S3, but it's just Martha Jones now.

I'm not going to watch the new ones again until after I get caught up so I can rewatch the 1st 3 & see everything I missed |thumb

I've been meaning to tell you: When I was a teen, my friends & I watched the Sex Pistols movie Sid & Nancy. Early on, Johnny Rotten & Sid were eating franks & beans when Johnny suddenly started shouting EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

From then on, for no reason, my friends & I would just start shouting EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! at each other|lol|

I really enjoyed Tenant's character as the Dr and took a couple of episodes to like Smith.

S5 started with Matt Smith. I liked Tennant a lot, but Smith is kinda growing on me :)

BTW I just started S6 - what's with the intro where Amy tells people about her invisible friend? Just feels off lol

I remember that being off with me as well but I liked the Amy Pond character so over looked some things :)

Smith quirky Dr character grew on me and I ended up really liking him in it.
