Black Mirror... so good.

My wife started watching The Idol. Dumb show.

ArtWilliams 2023-07-17 10:05 AM

I'm watching the sitcom Tacoma FD. It's on Crave in Canada and TruTv in the USofA.

https://www.trutv.com/shows/tacoma-fd

It takes place in a firehouse in Tacoma, Washington. Funny but not PC.

I finally got around to finishing Black Mirror and it was good. I did like episode 1 the best.

I re-watched Extraction and then watched Extraction 2 which I liked

We both watched and liked:

I've been watching & rewatching all the Marvel & Star Wars series on Disney+, but I have the feeling I'm the only one on here that's really into them :D

Not like you but we did just watch the 4 episodes of Secret Invasion and I just checked that episode 5 comes out tomorrow.

I also watched Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators and it was good background noise while working. I use to watch it way back when so nice flashbacks.

I'm enjoying Secret Invasion, but a word of advice to anyone thinking about watching it: watch (or rewatch) Captain Marvel first |shake|

Only Murders In The Building, Season 3

I love this show and can't wait to watch it tonight.

See it on Hulu in the States, Disney in Canada.

I really like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Showtime.
I've always been a Star Trek fan.
I'm on Ep 8 of S1 now.

I watched Army Of Thieves yesterday (2021 film) which was much better than I thought it would be. Sucked me in where I watched far more than got work done.

IS ANYONE WATCHING LOKI SEASON 2?!?!

Figures, wife is going away for the weekend so I should wait OR just watch it and not tell her :D

JustRobert 2023-11-13 01:45 PM

Didn't watch Loki over the weekend but I did watch Blue Eye Samurai which I thought was great. Don't normally mention the anime stuff I watch but this one was worth mentioning.

Bodies (Netflix)

Good sci-fi, time travel type of stuff.

JustRobert - PLEASE give me the Cliff's Notes version of WTF is going on with this Dr Who show I watched last night!

JustRobert 2023-11-29 10:23 AM

First off, Dr Who regenerates, brilliant, which is why different actors across 60 years.

Last Dr was female (first female Dr) and she regenerated into this Dr which happens to be a past Dr that Donna was a traveling companion of. Rose, Donna's daughter name, happens to be the name of a traveling companion of this Dr's before Donna as well.

These are specials which happen around the holidays and I believe there is just one more with this Dr before he regenerates into the new Dr (Ncuti Gatwa) which will be the first Dr of color and possibly gay. He previously played a gay character in the show Sex Education (I found this show quite funny and it's on Netflix).

I believe they are doing these specials with this Dr (David Tenant) because his character with companions Donna and Rose really brought in a mass global viewership their first time around.

As for the episode itself, when we finished watching we both felt like someone had fast forwarded through some scenes (probably cut for time) so that probably didn't help new viewers like yourself.

Ummm... ok?|lol|

I have the feeling I'm going to get in over my head if I travel down this rabbit hole of watching old episodes to get "caught up"

*ALSO*
True story: When I was a kid, Dr Who was on PBS, which had all kinds of kids programming back then. I remember watching it once & being scared shitless by the traveling phone booth. I swear, it haunted me for YEARS!|lol|

They did carry the first run of shows before they went on hiatus. Spooked a lot of children so you're not alone :)

Then they fired it back up in 2005, this is when I started watching, on BBC America. I'll admit that the Weeping Angels give me the heebie jeebies sometimes.

The good part is you don't have to get caught up and it looks like D+ deal is from this point forward so you shouldn't be tempted |lol|

These special are different to get viewership back, my opinion, before the new Dr enters and then it'll move forward like normal and will much easier to follow along, hopefully.

Watching on Discovery the last couple of seasons of

I Almost Got Away With It
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1420152/

It's a true crime documentary that is very interesting and yet badly done. They interview the ex-fugitives, now prisoners, about their crimes. They also recreate them. Often actors will have multiple roles like brother of the criminal and then you'll see him as gas station attendant later in the same episode. The props are crappy and sets look fake. That's part of the fun.

jollyhumper 2023-12-03 10:49 AM

I have just finished the 3rd season of Star Trek Discovery.
If they had cut down on the emotional reaction shots, the season would have been half as long |lol|

I do not understand a word of their technical dialogue either, but I love it.
Looking forward to begin S04

J:)
