The "What Are You Working On?" Thread - Month Of April 2017

Let's see.....

Updating Greenguy 6 days a week, Chubby Girls every Saturday, and Porn Luv every day (with JR).

Relaunched Anal Sex Fest, Sunshine Lesbians, and Naked Tanlines (with JR of course)

Launched Shemale Sex Clips.

Working on relaunching Booballistics which should be done today.

WHEW!

---

So, Skippy, what are YOU working on this month? |shake|

ecchi 2017-04-01 08:52 AM

A new month and I'm still working on the same damn thing I was working on last month (and the month before...and the month before that...and, well you get the picture) - ClitPass. Finished the new front page last night, then realised that there was a small error in my "confirm post" script that meant none of the galleries that Jeremy posted nor the ones I posted when testing the submit script were showing on the new index page. Only the very old ones showed, which is NOT what I wanted. The only way to get the new ones to show would mean all the fake galleries I put in while designing the submit scripts would show up. And as these (A) link to non existant URLs and (B) mostly have descriptions involving sex acts performed by children's TV characters of the 1960s and 1970s (my childish sense of humour) I don't want them displayed.

So I have delayed putting the new index page up and am now desperately working to fix the problem, hoping to get it up before I go to dialysis in three hours time. But I doubt I'll make it.

For those of you keeping count (which, by now, is probably no one), I didn't make it. The new index page went up this morning: http://clitpass.com/index.shtml One day I might possibly make one of my self imposed deadlines. But I doubt it!

jollyhumper 2017-04-03 01:51 PM

Working on cleaning up Smilingpussy.

I may need to design the whole thing from scratch, maybe a little freshening would do good anyway...

Also slowly working on some blogstuff, but I'm trying not to be to eager again and hit the wall.
So I take it slow

I am trying to get my ass in gear on a big old school build project that I want to do.

I now have 16 name related domains covering several different niches. I even have a namecash domain to use if I want to do a pay version.

Have a bunch of content, old and new.

Just can't get a clear picture in my head (or on paper) of how everything is going to interact so I end up spinning the fucking wheels instead of building.

Pagan 2017-04-04 01:16 PM

Oh, that sounds so familiar Sarettah!! I think I have been working on my network revamp for a year now. I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel. My biggest issue is that I will be working away happily and then get a bright idea to take everything another direction. If you can find the key piece and build it out, the rest will all fall into place.

Jolly, whatever you salvage from Smiling Pussy won't be current, so really, why hang on to it? Keep the galleries in place while you clean up the actual pages, load in new stuff, dump the old. Then you will be left with a nice, shiny LL built on a solid foundation. I've been kicking myself for not doing that earlier with my lists. I think I could have saved myself a good 6 months of agony.

jollyhumper 2017-04-05 04:40 AM

Cleaned up the front of Smiling Pussy, replaced links and deleted inactive trade-sites.

A few more changes later today, then I'll go into the category pages.

Question to LL users, does it have a "remove dead links" functionality? Can't seem to find it...

You mean Link Admin users? If so, no :(

What I do is this:
1 - Download the data.AcceptedLinks.txt file & copy it over into xls.
2 - Grab all the links (Column D)
3 - Paste them into textpad & then sort them removing the duplicates (assuming you have textpad or your text program does this lol)
4 - Copy & paste them into an html file, save it, and upload it to your server - see http://www.link-o-rama.com/all-links.html
5 - Run http://404checker.com/link-checker on that page
6 - With the data.AcceptedLinks.txt data still open in xls, select all (that's important) and then sort it by Column D
7 - Search/Find dead links in the sheet & delete the row.
8 - Copy the spread sheet & paste it back into the data.AcceptedLinks.txt file.
9 - Delete the existing data.AcceptedLinks.txt file from the server, then reupload the updated copy of data.AcceptedLinks.txt & change the permissions to 766
10 - Refresh the links :)

Man!

How many beers do I owe you, when I sometime makes my trip to US?

Thank you!

Jolly

Greenguy 2017-04-05 12:16 PM

No beers needed :) Link/Traffic trades, on the other hand, I need LOL

Also, I assume you know you can do this all in the admin by searching for a domain or user or whatever, then checking the checkbox next to the ones you want to delete & then pushing the Reject Selected Sites button on the bottom, but that's very timely for what you're about to do.

I'll do my best to give traffic

Yea, I know about that way of doing it. I just hoped it was an easier way...
Apparently it is

Thanks from me too, I was not aware of that site, it looks jolly useful. However I think I'll replace points 1 to 4 with just one thing, it is quicker:

1) Write a script that goes through your database creates a page containing all your links and saves it to your server.

In the case of ClitPass I think I have most of it written, should just take a short while to adapt the script that gives the most recent links (on the index page), so that it gives all links at once.

Tried this. But 404checker fails and tell me to check the url.
I assume (looking at your page) that all the links will need
How do you do that?

I'm assuming the problem here is that you use a HTML editor not a text editor to create your websites. If so, the easiest way to do a job like this is to use a text editor. But remember to save it as plain text, most text editors will save it in their own proprietary format by default, which will fuck up the page. Always choose "plain text" (or on some editors it will just say "text document"). If you are using a Windows machine the quickest way is to use Wordpad's search and replace function. (If you are using Apple or Linux, there is probably a similar program in there somewhere.) Open your text file in Wordpad, choose "replace" from the "edit" menu and do the following two substitutions:

Code:

Find what: http
Replace with: link
[REPLACE ALL]

This assumes all your links end .html or .shtml. If you have links ending .htm .php .cgi .perl etc... you will have to do the second substitution again, replacing the html with whichever of those are in your links section.

Ofcourse. To tired in the early morning ours.
I use HTML-editor working on pages, but I use EditPad for stuff like this.

Thanks

What I did when checking for redirects and dead links was make a dummy page on one of the smaller TGPs. Then I set that page to show whatever partner links I needed to check (it can also be done by sponsor in TGPx). I built that page, then ran just the one page through the checker. To check the next submitter, just change the partner name. I am not sure if LinkAdmin does the same thing, but... you should still be able to run a category page.

Well I did get to manual rebuilding of 36 sites a couple days ago.

Finally updated (almost a year when script was lost) and added in Naked Busty Teens to the manual rebuild group since I owed a return link to Greenie.

Might get to another addition today since I owe the same person a return link from it

JustRobert 2017-04-07 05:55 PM

I actually got to the other site. Natural Juggies has now been updated and will be part of the monthly manual update group.

lezinterracial 2017-04-08 02:40 AM

I bought the domain smoothcamgirls.com I am trying out the awempire white label.

JustRobert 2017-04-08 02:20 PM

Was able to get Sexy Stockings Legs updated and will be part of the monthly manual update group as well.

jollyhumper 2017-04-08 02:50 PM

No biggie to tell this, but I am still cleaning up Smilingpussylinks
It will not take as long as I feared, but I need at least another week.
Then we will have to look into redesigning it...

So. To make a bit of variety, I have dabbled around with TGP and FS stuff today. Trying to improve the way I code this shit.
Very interesting, but might have been unberable without a lot of good inspirating music :)

Yep.. put those headphones on and crank it up. That always works for me. Maybe that will keep the funk chased away. Hmmm...

ecchi 2017-04-13 08:39 AM

Now that I have got the "No Password Required" submit form up and running on ClitPass ( http://clitpass.com/stranger-submit.shtml ), so that even people without a password can submit to ClitPass, I think I'll take a short break from ClitPass and do some much needed work on Women In Bondage. And Women In Bondage really needs some work, a lot of the galleries died while I was in hospital, and I need to replace them. (Take a look at the shithole that used to be one of my best performing sites: http://women-in-bondage.info/ ) I'm also considering redoing the script, using an adapted version of the one I created for ClitPass.
