PimpRoll's PR_Tom (everyone please read)

I posted this on one other board a little while ago, but I wanted to post it here at GG&J as well because I know that Tom has alot of good friends here and that this is one of his favorite board communities..

Pimproll's PR_Tom suffered a heart attack Saturday afternoon at his home in upstate New York.

He's as well as can be expected now though. The doctors performed an angioplasty procedure on him at 9am this morning and they put a stent into one of his arteries in his heart. I spoke with him not long after he got back to his room earlier and then again a few minutes ago, and he seemed to be in better spirits than he was yesterday. Relieved that the procedure was over with and that there wasn't any complications during it.

He should be able to go home at some point tomorrow which is a huge relief to him as he has only been able to sleep for about an hour since he was admitted on Saturday and he's extremely tired.

I would have posted about this sooner, but I wanted to make sure that it was ok with him first and not do something that might upset him in any way.

Tom is just 42 years old, but there's a history of heart trouble in his family (his dad died of a massive heart attack when he was only 46), so needless to say this has been a pretty scary and stressful ordeal for him.

Those of you who know Tom know that he is probably one of the truly nicest guys in this business, and he certainly has all of our love, support and very best wishes while he recouperates.

Get well soon Tom! We love you!!

He will definitely recuperate better at home. It is impossible to sleep, or even rest in a hospital. Best of luck to ya Tom.

Ramster 2007-05-21 05:51 PM

Best of luck to Tom. 42 is not old at all.

Sorry to hear about your heart attack Tom, what a fucking wake up call. Sounds like you will be up and atum soon with a new diet and regular checkups to keep your ass around.

The secret to sleeping in a hospital is drugs, they must not be giving you enough :D

PR_Tom 2007-05-22 05:54 PM

Thank you all for your well wishes :)

Crazy thing is that I already have what a lot of people would call a pretty darn heart healthy diet. Heart disease is strong in my family though, and it builds up gradually until one day you're sweeping your kitchen floor and wham, clutching your chest in agony and dialing 911..

At one point when I asked a doctor if I could get the arteries checked, then wait a couple of days so I could talk to my family and such.. he said well Tom, alot of people who come in with this significant of an event can't talk at all anymore, so I recommend we find the blockage and open it up right NOW.. So I was all for it.. and thats what we did.

I have a stent in the artery now, since one of the 4 major vessels was completely blocked. Also plenty of drugs to take everyday. Luckily a hot young doctor hooked me up with a 30 day supply of the 2 most expensive (lipitor and plavix) for free |thumb

Thanks again Greenguy and Jim and everyone|waves|
