Verotel Problems
 
I have been a merchant with Verotel for over a year now. I recently had a problem with 1 of my sites and a user. I wsant aware the site had problems and the user signed up (2nd one in a year) and then cancelled. Well I take a very DIM VIEW of people wanting CREDIT back so I e-mailed them. Well we kinda got into it & now Verotel has suspended my acount. I figure they owe me like $1700 or so. I had a $1000 payment due next week already scheduled. Can anyone tell me is there anything I can do to try & resolve this. I dont want to have to signup with a NEW PROCESSOR & plus I want what I have earned to be paid to me.

What was the problem with the site that caused the member to request their money back?

A bunch of the LINKS & content didnt work correctly. This was kind of a development site. I had set it up last year when I was with another hosting company & it worked fine. The other hosting company started having problems with CGI so I moved this and several other sites to another hosting company. Never really tested it after moving other than to see it came up & the JOIN & PREVIEW links worked. I had several other site that were generating my main income. Well anyway, someone signed up & then claimed they sent me SUPPORT messages. Well I never recieved them other than 1 that said there was a problem creating their USER-ID which I fixed immedietly. After several more days, they go and get a CREDIT/REFUND which costs me $$$$. So I E-Mailed them & got kinda mad. I Hate being RIPPED OFF. Anyway, they forwarded all this to VEROTEL who now has suspended my account. I dont care about that 1 website as it is not really ready. But I have another site where I have over 15 users & another with 3 High Dollar users. In fact one of the HIGH DOLLAR users just renewed last night right before they pull this. I immedietly complied with everything they have asked for. I just dont feel they are too interested in restoring my access. Also they say I will have to wait 6 Months for any of my $$$ and I was counting on the CHECK that was scheduled for next week.

So do paying customers.

If anyone got ripped off, it was your customer & from the looks of it, they had every right to request their money back.

I'd start to kiss Verotel's ass, because you really have no one to blame but yourself.

I understand. I am trying to KISS THEIR ASS as you put it. Just not getting good vibes back from them. Just kinda wondering what anyones experience with this is. That is, being SUSPENDED for something you were not aware of, and then correcting everything as quick as possible & then being allowed back. Any thoughts, hopes or inspiration would be appreciated.

Sorry DSS, but sounds like you weren't suspended for something you weren't aware of...meaning the non-functional site. You were suspended for getting nasty with the customer who then forwarded the details to Verotel.

GreenGuy is right...at this point, your best option is to find the biggest most important ass at Verotel that you can...and pucker up.

I'd love to see those emails. :D I'm sure it had to very fairly unprofessional in order for that to be the reason for Verotel to cancel your entire account.

I don't understand why you feel justified in attacking a former member when you admit that the site has problems and admit that you didn't test anything accept the tour. |huh I'm pretty sure the proper response would have been to quickly repair the site and apologize to the member for problems. YOU went hot-headedly looking for trouble - and you found it.

I've used Verotel for over three years and I for one am glade they canceled your account, I don't want someone going to my web site and not joining because they had a bad experience with you.
If Verotel canceled accounts just for broken links I would have been history long ago.

YES, most of you are correct. I over-reacted & now am in a world of hurt. I have had some people recently point out how people were sucking sites down (All content & everything) and then would request REFUNDS so that they would get your content for FREE. This seemed to be the case. I am very quick to react to anything wrong. I switched web hosts last year after 4 days of e-mailing back & forth between OLD web host & Verotel cause the CGI wasnt working properly. After the Web Host couldnt make it right, I quickly signed up with a New Hosting company & moved everything over. Starting with the sites that had Members on them. I also E-Mailed them and told them to contact me direct if they had problems. Fortunately they didnt. I also moved this site over, but it had NO MEMBERS on it. I havent tried to promote it very much as I was working on some other things. Anyway, someone stumbled across it & JOINED (GREAT !!!) the next communication I get that there is a problem, creating the USER-ID. So I quickly go in & MANUALLY set it up. Then 3 days later I get a CREDIT notice about them. So now I am thinking I responded quickly, they SUCKED me dry & now they are trying to get thier $$$$ back. If I had been contacted about any problems, I would have fixed them. They said they contacted me, but I checked my E-Mail server as I have it set to hold 21 days of messages and I find NOTHING other than what I mentioned above. So while I agree I was wrong to over-react, I also feel I should have been contacted & given a chance to correct this.

Also I would like to know if there is something that can prevent someone from sucking all your content down via something like GRAB-A-SITE or WEBWHACKER. I have tried to research this & havent found very much. Any help would be appreciated.

DSS-Adult: Take it easy on the all-caps. If you click the "go advanced" button below you'll find tools for making your text italic, bold, colored and all kinds of other goodies.

USING ALL CAPS REPRESENTS SHOUTING!

Verotel is known for giving refunds to customers easily; this is part of how they keep the chargeback ratio down so they can provide paysite processing to smaller adult webmasters. I, for one, wouldn't have been able to start a paysite this year without them.
